Their friends and family came in costumes, a friend officiated the ceremony (while wearing a cape) and the bride designed and painted the artwork for the invitations, signage, table numbers and labels for the cider bottles inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas (featuring their cats). Alex also opted to wear a purple dress which she designed herself and had a local seamstress make for her.
