Alison and Jeremy's wedding took place in Melbourne, They had a non-denominational ceremony in a church and their reception was held at Shebeen, a super cool bar on Manchester Lane. Their day was super colourful and nearly all the décor was DIYed by the couple themselves. "We didn't really have a conscious theme," explained the bride. "We just put together a wedding that represented us. Throughout the planning process we questioned a lot of the usual traditions and culled elements of a traditional wedding that didn't have meaning for us."

Erica and Philip were married in Sweden in October. Philip proposed on their seven year anniversary, and wanting an Autumn wedding but not wanting to wait over a year, they planned their wedding in just four months! The reception was held in a beautiful orangery owned by one of the bride's friends. It is located right by one of the Sweden's biggest lakes and was an incredible backdrop. Because it is a privately owned, the venue rarely hosts parties so the couple had a lot of work to do to make it look amazing... but they certainly pulled it off! Having such a blank canvas meant they were really able to put their own stamp on their day.

Carla and Chris wanted their wedding to be a reflection of them but also to be laid back and enjoyable for their guests. They weren't bothered about following tradition and mainly wanted to make sure that they threw one hell of party! "We hate the big white wedding and the whole cut-and-paste experience so we wanted to do something different", began Carla. "No white wedding dress, no cutting of the cake, absolutely no bunting. Just us, relaxed and simple. I guess we set the scene when we sent out wedding invitations with a picture of two skeleton hands with their wedding rings on (till death do us part!)"

The beautiful wedding of Anna and Luke took place at Victorian Marriage Registry, Melbourne followed by a casual lunch at Golden Orchids Malaysian Restaurant (where they had their first date!) and an evening reception at North Fitzroy Star. Nothing about this wedding was traditional. The bride wore a non-wedding dress from theoutnet.com, the cakes and desserts were made by their loved ones instead of a wedding cake and instead of an expensive wedding car they either walked or caught taxi's from place to place.

I love nothing more than being surprised by the weddings that land in my inbox and Kelly and Jack's was certainly one that did that. The celebration was held at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. "Our wedding theme was sharks with an explosion of everything we love!" began the bride. Adriene and Shannon wanted an informal wedding so they held their ceremony at Aids Memorial Grove in the Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It was followed by a picnic reception in the park. One of the most unique and awesome parts of their wedding was the bride's ombre wedding dress, which she made herself by upcycling two second-hand dresses and making them into one!
