Wearing a bespoke black wedding dress, Iron Fist shoes and rocking her fuchsia tresses with aplomb, Jude married Will at Bruisyard Hall in October. They booked their country house venue for whole weekend and threw the party in the middle! The celebration was centred around the couple and their love of alternative music. They wanted the feel of a rock gig for their wedding and for all their guests to have a blast.

June 18, 2014

On May 3rd, and with just £5000 to spend, Charly and Phil were married at Church of The Good Shepherd in Tadworth. They had their thrifty reception in the church hall next door! The bride wore a Nataya 'Titanic' dress and carried a homemade crochet bouquet. They saved cash by DIYing pretty much everything, from the flowers to the cake to the catering! Their entertainment was a two piece jazz band, made up of friends.

June 13, 2014

Wanting to combine two of their biggest passions for their big day, Nick and Kelli had a surf and flower inspired wedding. All the guys wore colourful Hawaiian shirts and the girls were in brightly patterned summer dresses! Kelli's dress was vintage, from the 1940s and cost her $8! The day was held outdoors, at The Litchi Orchard in Salt Rock, Durban. "Our wedding was surf inspired", wrote Kelli, "as we both surf and after watching the 80s classic North Shore together, we knew the theme we wanted straight away! Light, fun, floral, colourful and full of love!"

When I was in San Francisco last month, one of the most delicious meals we had was at Foreign Cinema. A super cool restaurant and bar in an old cinema building (pro tip: get the truffle popcorn - so good!), they also play silent foreign film during dinner. The vibe is laid back but super cool. Unsurprisingly, it also makes an awesome wedding venue, and I am super excited to share Stephanie and Jim's big day with you today! But before we crack on, can we all please stop for one minute and bask in the beauty that is Stephanie's Monique Lhuillier dress? I mean, goodness!

DIY Vintage Shabby Chic Wedding: Erin & Jon

May 29, 2014

I fell in love with Erin and Jon's budget wedding as soon as I saw it - I loved the cute, affordable and easy-to-DIY details, the beautiful venue and the bride's lilac dress (which was actually a bridesmaid's dress from J Crew). The day was held at Shadowbrook Restaurant in Captiola, California on the bride's birthday (!) and was planned, in the most part, by her mother. She did almost everything herself, from chalk painting the mason jars to making the dessert trays from using vintage plates and tea cups.

I think a lot of you will know Sassy already. She is an amazing wedding photographer and I'm really lucky because I get to share her incredible weddings all the time. A few years ago she also wrote an article for me about her own wedding photography experience which went kinda viral (read: it was one of my most popular articles of all time!) So, when she told me that she and her gorgeous husband, Ian, were renewing their vows in Thailand I was really, really excited. Excited for them because they'd finally have the epic photographs they deserved, but extra excited for me and you because I knew she'd let me blog it!
