Robert and Katy's Scottish wedding was themed around lots of different things but skulls and 80s movies played a big part! "The wedding theme turned out to be a bit eclectic, with elements Robert loved like 80s films (they were our table names), a pork pie wedding cake and elements that had a slightly gothic feel such as a skull centrepiece at the head table and 'til death do us part' favour boxes."Read more...

Raisa and Maite, two creative and edgy girls from Holland and Germany, were married outside in August. "The overall theme was a vintage and 'til death do us part," they said. "We also had touches of a festival theme and lot of skulls and skeletons in all the props, stationery and on the cakes. We tried to make it as colourful and fun as possible. Maite has a thing for skeletons and skulls, and Raisa loves festivals and the circus so we wanted to mesh the two together."Read more...

Natalie and Aaron wanted a small wedding, that was just for them. They were married at Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne with just nine guests. "The inspiration for our wedding was to have a low key, romantic elopement with beautiful spring flowers all around us", the bride said. "We had originally planned a wedding for around 80 guests which was meant to happen next July, but after I became very anxious and stressed we decided to drop that in favour of our little ceremony. By doing a small ceremony we saved thousands of dollars too."Read more...

British-born Aisling and Australian Jeremiah met in Vancouver. Although they now live in Australia, they wanted to go back to where they first met to be married. "Our wedding theme was 'Two Worlds Collided', began the bride. "The INXS song of the same name was how it all began it was our song from the day we met. Burning Man is a place where anything goes, so it was the perfect place for Angela and Michael's to have the wedding they've always dreamt of. "We were married at Burning Man so our theme was loosely a mixed interpretation of a royal wedding", the bride said. "In truth, weddings are rarely just about the bride and groom and we wanted a wedding that was just about us. We already had tickets to Burning Man and had heard about people getting married there so once the idea was put forth it was an easy decision to make. When we told our families our plans they were completely unsurprised. Apparently running away to the desert is completely in-keeping with our personalities and reputation!"Read more...

Amy and Ryan wanted a sweet, nostalgic and happy wedding. They were married at Star Hill Ranch in Austin, in March. "I originally wanted a ceremony at our house, but there was no way we could fit everyone, so we brought elements of our home to the venue", Amy said. "We both love mid-century ascetics, but didn't want it to be too kitschy or overdone. One guest described it as 'if Wes Anderson remade Steel Magnolias' which is a fantastic compliment if not just a really, really good idea."Read more...
