I am so excited to finally be publishing this bridal fashion editorial in full today! If you grabbed yourself a copy of the last issue of Rock n Roll Bride magazine you will have already seen a lot of this shoot inside, but today I wanted to take the opportunity to not only share more images that didn't quite make the spread (when 10 pages just isn't enough!) but to tell you all about Walthamstow Wetlands, one of London's coolest new wedding venues, who we partnered with for this shoot.

Copper + Sage Collective

June 16, 2018

Sometimes, when you want to turn the traditional wedding world on its head, you literally have to go to the Upside Down. Which is exactly what this team of suppliers did for their Stranger Things styled inspiration shoot. If you're a fan of the Netflix hit TV show, you'll know it's ripe with quotes, in-jokes, favourite characters, and that sweet beloved 1980s nostalgia, to bring to your wedding styling. Nothing says ‘spring wedding’ quite like a pastel colour scheme, but the idea doesn’t have to result in something syrupy, wishy-washy or overly traditional. Those delicate, girly hues can still be Rock n Roll - all it takes is an injection of fun! So throw on a buttery soft biker jacket, some chunky accessories and your favourite kicks, but most importantly always remember to rock a carefree ‘this is my wedding and I’m going to have a damn good time!’ attitude!

It's created a styling synergy and a very interesting dynamic. Alongside these oppositional details, there are also elements that come together, echo and complement each other, creating yet another line of interest. There's way more here than meets the eye than just pretty styling for its own sake - there are connotations and depth to be experienced and inspired by.

Anna and Johannes

December 18, 2017

At first glance, this is a gorgeous wedding full of all the details that Rock n Roll Bride readers go nuts for. But this is actually a styled shoot! And it has a beautiful story behind it... Vanessa ('Vanny') and Martin are very close friends of photographers Anna and Johannes. When they were all children, Anna's little sister brought her friend Vanny home from school. Vanny's father had died of cancer and her mum had a new boyfriend and so was almost never home. Vanny was mostly living off pizza and soft drinks, said Anna. "Since my family is very sociable (and crazy), we kind of adopted Vanny and so she spent a lot of time with us during those years, and we went through a lot together. Johannes and I had a styled shoot planned, and we asked Vanny and her boyfriend Martin to be the models. What they didn't tell us was that not only they were freshly engaged, but they were also expecting a baby! Our shoot then turned out to be half styled and half real wedding, with me doing a speech in church, everybody crying, and our friends playing the parts of the bridal party!"
