This shoot is certainly going to appeal to all you Whovians out there. Come on then, tell me, who's having Dr Who influences in their wedding? "Ever since I became a fan of Doctor Who I’d wanted to do a styled shoot and combine it with one of my other favourite things in life: weddings, of course!" explained photographer Kat Forsyth. "I’d seen a couple of Who-themed shoots around, but I always felt that none of them got it quite right; they were either really pretty, floral and sparkly, or a little too much like a cheesy costume party. I was sure that by assembling a hand-picked team of Doctor Who geeks (read: experts), we could come up with a shoot that not only captured the quirky and fun aspect of the show, but also the atmosphere."Read more...

August 24, 2013
This hippy-esque countryside shoot was set up by wedding photographer Camilla Rosa. who really wanted to shoot an emotional set that perfectly reflected the couple in it. Jesse and Charlie live in a hut on the banks of a river with no electricity, sing in a band, home made pretty much everything and only wear charity shop or home made clothes - so her idea was perfect for them!Read more...

After lying flat in front of a fan for about 20 minutes straight, we were cooled down enough to get back on the pavement for the next set in our lookbook shoot with Rent Patina. When owner Michelle Gala, Shauna and I that they'd grabbed a bunch of disco balls called in some rainbow confetti and balloons and found some vintage silver roller skates lurking in their collection I had high expectations for what we'd see... but nothing prepared me for this. This set up is literally my dream come true, I'm sure you can see why!Read more...

When some of my favourite wedding suppliers get together for a shoot at one of my favourite locations (we shot the Crown and Glory headpieces in the same studio!) I get very excited indeed... and even more so when they ask if I'd like to feature the results afterwards! Wedding photographer Lisa Jane explains, "Elbie posted a picture on twitter one day, asking if anyone wanted to get involved in an inspiration shoot inspired by it and I took one look and jumped at the chance to collaborate with her. Within minutes we also had the lovely Jo from The Couture Company offering to design us a dress for it and Abby From Cherished Vintage offering headpieces. It was amazing to be able to get creative without any restrictions. Everyone let their imaginations run wild."Read more...
Sharon Cooper
August 3, 2013
Always wanting to do a wedding inspiration shoot with a difference, photographer Sharon Cooper finally found her mojo when she came up with this hotch-potch and patchwork theme. "I wanted to do something that packed a punch and used a range of uplifting colours", she explained, "an alternative to weddings which have one single colour theme. This shoot embodies pleasing mixed colours and offers a smorgasbord of individualism. I found myself loving patchwork and texture and colour."Read more...

Veronica and Craig are pretty much obsessed with their camper van, so when wedding photographer Lisa Devlin asked them if they'd like to model for her upcoming Photography Farm, a 3-day residential photography workshop in the heart of Sussex, they asked if it could get in on the action too! From there an idea started to form for the shoot and Lisa, alongside florist and stylist extraordinaire Hannah of The Tea Set, came up with the concept of a Summer of Love theme.Read more...

It's no secret that I have a 'thing' for ridiculous headwear, and my obsession with ears in particular is completely unfaltering! So I was thrilled when I saw this cute 'bunny love' photo shoot by South London based wedding photographer Ellie Gillard. This world needs more brides wearing ears that's what I say. Why not be brave and do something quirky like this for your wedding day portraits... go on, I dare ya!Read more...

Shooting a bride in water is nothing new, but there was just something about this Lady in the Lake inspired shoot that spoke to me. I love the bride's beautiful blue, green and purple mermaid hair (obviously) and the simple yet edgy styling ideas are pretty damn awesome aren't they? I'd love to see a future real bride carrying a rustic and dramatic bouquet like some of these.Read more...

Two rockabilly babes, tattoos and seriously cute wedding dresses - what's not to love about this adorable set of images, shot in and around The Custard Factory in Birmingham? "This shoot came about from my vastly growing obsession with polka dots, in all their multicoloured forms", wrote button bouquet creator Emma, who masterminded the whole thing. "Actually, not just mine, but also many of my brides who often want a bit of dottiness in their bouquets! I wanted to create a look that would appeal to and inspire my clients so I set about this little collaboration with some wonderfully talented wedding peeps."Read more...

Julius & James
April 21, 2013
Following on from yesterday's trip down memory lane, today I wanted to share the Polaroid fantasy of wedding photographers Julius & James. When Stephen (James), who has a passion for old film cameras, gave Julius a modified Polaroid 250 land camera for his birthday they immediately started to think about how they could use it in their wedding and fashion photography. So they started to experiment with 4X5 film in their Toronto studio.Read more...

The Photography Farm is a three-day workshop for wedding photographers, hosted by Lisa Devlin on a beautiful 12-acre farm near Gatwick. I've been involved with The Farm since it's inception, helping to style the shoots and speaking to the 'farmers' about blogging, working with wedding blogs, advertising & marketing and building a successful online brand. I love The Farm. It's quickly become my home away from home, a place I look forward to escaping to and somewhere I get to meet a whole host of new and exciting emerging wedding photography talent. I always leave the safe confines of the 16th century farmhouse with a head full of ideas, a new jolt of inspiration and a renewed invigoration for where the UK wedding industry is heading.Read more...

March 30, 2013
To me, the thing that makes a really great editorial shoot isn't all the pretty details (although they help), the beautiful model or the amazing backdrop - it's the narrative and the story that the images tell. As soon as I saw this shoot sent over by wedding photographer James Melia I instantly started wondering what this girl's story was and what the photographer and stylist wanted to tell us.Read more...

June Cochran
March 2, 2013
Wanting to do something different to the vintage-loving crowd, wedding photographer June Cochran opted to have her latest project shot inside, at night and with a warm cosy vibe. This idea but juxtaposed nicely with bright pops of colour and daring and edgy flower arrangements. "Pretty much every single stylized wedding shoot I've seen is at magic hour, outdoors in a field, and as vintage and pastel as it gets", she writes. "That's beautiful, but I wanted to shake it up and push it out it the box."Read more...
