How to…Look & Feel Natural in Front of the Camera

Kat

August 21, 2010

I hope you've been enjoying our much more frequent visits to the 'How to...' series. After reading your survey responses (full report to come soon) it was one of the things that was most requested. This week I asked Carina Romano of the fabulous Love Me Do Photography (based in Philadelphia) to address the subject that a lot of brides feel nervous about - how they're going to look in their wedding pictures. Don't forget, I love hearing from you all so if you have any burning questions about anything wedding, business or blogging related be sure to shoot me an email and either myself or one of my carefully selected army of amazing guest posters will try and help out.

August 14, 2010

So, you've dreamt about this day for pretty much your WHOLE LIFE. Your ideas may or may not have changed and you may or may not still choose to get married in the biggest fluffiest ballgown or get married in a church like you always imagined you would. Now as this is Rock 'n Roll Bride, I'm sure you've heard of having YOUR wedding day the way YOU'D want it, not how society expects you to have it - why should your hair & make up choices be any different

Agony Aunt Anna – Bling for the Bridesmaids

Kat

August 7, 2010

Hello Kat and Anna I'm getting married in October and have two of the loveliest, super helpful bridesmaids (as well as a lovely, super helpful bridesman (has anyone come up with a better term for a male bridesmaid yet?!)) I have been searching all over for a present for the girls (I think the boy is sorted). I would love to get them a necklace or bracelet, but would be open to other ideas. I have been looking all over but nothing has caught my eye yet. I'd like something pretty but not too girly, and fun but not too crazy ironic - does that make sense? I can spend about £50 ($80) per person (but I could be persuaded to go a little higher).

Woohoo. New feature alert! I've decided that Saturday's are going to become guest post days. I've always shied away from featuring guest posters before because...well...let's be honest I'm a control freak and am very particular about what I like (just ask my husband!) BUT I've got a few reasons for changing my mind and introducing this new concept to the site. Therefore I thought it'd be cool to share my thought process with you all before we get going - and I'm going to be honest (because as we know, that's me!)

Staggered Saturday – Jobs For the Boys

Kat

July 17, 2010

The first Staggered Saturday post seemed to go down pretty well with you all (both the girls and the boys!) so I asked the very lovely Andrew Shanahan of UK blokes wedding blog, Staggered to write us a part 2. This week, Andrew discusses if grooms are actually bothered about what goes into their wedding day or would they rather leave all the planning to the girls? As always, we want to hear your thoughts in the comments section please!

Staggered Saturday – A Smarter Future

What's one of the main things missing in wedding blog land? Something that is pretty integral to the whole 'getting married' thing but is often omitted? Only the bloomin' groom right?!? Well fear not my darlings, I have the answer! I made a new friend a few weeks ago. Andrew Shanahan runs a UK wedding blog aimed at your men called Staggered. Genius. Why did no one think of this before? I wanted to invite Andrew to write a little sommat sommat for you and your boys. My aim is that you'll read this, show your hubby's-to-be and then they can be all in love with Rock n Roll Bride, wedding blogs and stuff too (yes I know I do have a lot of male readers...but let's be honest there are a lot more chicks about!)
