Engagement

Lover’s Day Out

Kat

October 24, 2009

The gorgeous and ever lovely Josephine Sicad sent these over to me yesterday telling me the story of the engagement session of Yvon & Moyo. Remember her own engagement session that I featured a while back - Nobody Can Be Uncheered by a Balloon? (her own words) Well this one is just as glorious! The idea was 'A Lover's Day' a day in the life so to speak. I literally drooled as I checked these out. You will too! Thanks to the amazing Josephine for sending these over. It is always a joy to receive a n over excitable email from you! Credit: Josephine Sicad Photography

Pillow Fight

I saw a feathery sneak peak of Mary & Stephan's engagement session on their wedding coordinator's website and immediately shot and email to Erin & Court asking if I could blog them when they were all ready. Lucky for me they were of course delighted and I got the email this morning to tell me they were up. I knew they were going to be good because of the hilarious and fun 'pillow fight' scene, yet I wasn't expecting the rest - the balloons, the guitar playing, the balloons, the fun fair..eeek. These are just perfect! A massive, huge and ginormous thank you to Erin & Court for letting me be the one to share these simple beautiful images! Credit: Erin Hearts Court

Emotional & Theatrical

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin's 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia's vision for the session. Rebecca's polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo. Thanks to Alica for sharing these wonderful images with us

Lady Diana

The awesome Marianne Taylor (who shot my pinky, punky princess shoot) just sent me a selection of her most recent engagement sessions and Sam & Adam's jumped out at me right away. Not only have I got a unhealthy obsession with toy cameras right now (they used a Diana camera as a prop) but the couple are just to damn right funky for words. I am loving Mr. Whippy ice cream, the light up heart shaped display, the neon back lights and of course the fact that these images are quintessential London baby! Thanks to the ever gorgeous Marianne for sending these over. Credit: Marianne Taylor Photography

Day to Night

Anna & Simon actually had two days to shoot their engagements with friend and photographer Steve Gerrard. They hit two locations which gave both sets a completely different look. First up was the quaint English town of Stratford-Upon-Avon (random fact of the day - where Shakesphere was born) and the second at The Custard Factory in Birmingham. I can't help but particularly love the night time/painting with light shots though - v. cool! Thanks to Steve for shooting these over to me.

Iron Fist

Texas seems to be right up there with the awesome couples right now. Not a day goes by when I'm don't receive an email which has winged it's way over here from Southern America...and of course today is no different. Jayme & Matt actually had their engagement session nearly a year ago with photographer Brandi Thompson but since then the couple both lost loads of weight and so wanted to celebrate with another one - who says one engagement session is enough? Don't you just adore Jayme's Iron Fist shoes too! I saw then in Schuh and tried them on myself - she rocks them more than I did though. Thanks to the lovely Brandi for sharing and the stunning Jayme & Matt for being so kick ass. Credit: Brandi Thompson Photography

Kat

October 19, 2009

Carly & James were describes to me by their photographer Dani as'a couple of badasses who wed like rockstars' and after seeing these and their wedding (coming up next) I have to agree wholeheartedly. Their engagement shoot took place at a variety of their favourite spots all around Fresno. They set off at 9am withBloody Mary's in hand and visited thrift stores, favourite bars, some cornfields...to name a few! It must have been an exhausting day but the results are a fabulous array of eclectic style! Thanks to the wonderful Dani for sending these over...eeek their wedding is coming right up!

When I received a sweet email from Lizeth & Rafter asking if I'd like to check out their engagement session I was shocked to discover that their super modest and a-a-amazingly talented photographer Broin Hopkins had never submitted any of his work to a blog before! Blog land has seriously been missing out! I am over the moon and uber excited to be the first blog to share his work and this session in particular. Aren't Lizeth & Rafter such a cool couple!? She is a photograher herself and he is a music master. Rock n Roll indeed! Broin - get submitting your work to blogs - they will go nuts for stuff like this. Thanks to Lizeth & Rafter for not only sharing their session but for introducing me to one of my new favourite photographers! Credit: Broin Hopkins

Well people, hold on to your hats and prepare yourself for another bumper day of Rock n Roll goodness. Did something magical happen overnight or something? I have received a ridiculous number of amazing photo sessions and weddings this morning - I just hope I can bring them all to you soon! Starting off today is this gorgeous 'sugar and spice' rockabilly couple. She's a ballerina, he's a total petrol head (I think in America you call them 'gear heads'? - whatever, he is nuts about cars!) Cassy & Kelly headed to pier 39 in San Francisco with photographer Marin Kristine to get these amazing carousel/carnival/fun fair shots. The couple will be having a pin up style wedding in just 2 weeks and boy am I excited to see the results! Thanks to the lovely Marin for sending these over. Credit: Marin Kristine Photography

Make it Perfect

Isn't this just one gorgeous couple? They seriously should be models methinks! Photographer Amelia travel to Utah to shoot this 'engagement' (the couple are actually already married, but hey why has a fact like that gotta stop you?!) I really do love props like the old books and the suitcases. They can make or break a shoot and these have certainly made it perfect. Thanks to the delightful Amelia for sending these in. Mwah! Wet.

Clayton Austin seems to be the new beau of blog land. I've seen his vintage inspired shoots on many-a gorgeous wedding blog so when he sent me a slightly more modern feeling shoot to feature I jumped at the chance. When Marisa & Trey's shoot was plagued by torrential rain their first reaction was to call the whole thing off. "To hell with it" Clayton said "Let's get wet!" Thanks to Clayton for not only sharing but for getting so wet to bring us these images - you know we love you for it! Credit: Clayton Austin Photography

Iconic Californian photographer and blog land favourite, Stephanie Williams, was kind enough to let me be the first to share this beautiful new engagement session she just shot with husband, and business partner, Issac. Naoko & Taejo's shoot is fit to bursting with colour and fun, who could ever been uncheered by jelly babies and balloons!? Thanks so much to Stephanie & Issac for sharing with me! Mwah... Just Sassy

Kat

October 11, 2009

I recieved this adorable email yesterday...how could I say no? Now, this couple isn't tattooed (that I know of) or super outrageous, but they are pretty damn sassy. We shot these in Duluth, Minnesota and we brought out their dog, their scooter and braved a decaying deer to get some sweet graffiti shots. I had the HARDEST time choosing which ones to show you, so if you want to see the cute pooch and graffiti pics, you will just have to ask to see more! Well Stephany was right - cute, sassy and certainly rock n roll worthy. Me likey... Thanks to Stephany for sharing these with us Credit: EyeSpy Weddings
