Rock n Roll Bride - The ultimate guide for alternative brides

Engagement

Sweet Tooth

Kat

December 2, 2009

I actually featured newbie photographer Shannon McLaughlin's own wedding waaaay back in February - many of you may recognise her as Mrs Candy Corn from Wedding Bee. Well, like many of us recent brides, the thought of giving up all things wedding once she'd tied the knot was too much to bear so she decided to venture into wedding photography herself...and oh how pleased we are that she did! She has only had her professional camera for a little over a month and look how awesome she is already! The recently engaged Veronika & Bryan acted as models for this shoot. Veronika owns her own vintage shop called Sweet Tooth Vintage through the fabulous Etsy so she had lots of amazing outfits to wear. I am also loving the various props and locations used for this shoot - an environmental centre in Philadelphia, the couple's own home (including their insane number of pets!) and a cuuuute tandem bike! A Huge Rock n Roll thank you ro Shannon for sharing her work and this amazing couple. I am so excited to see more of her in future! ps go check out her blog - it's super duper cute! We love Axioo at Rock n Roll Bride HQ...and apparently so do you. You've gone nuts over their darling and sweet videos and innovative and adorable photo shoots. I can't say I blame you, not with prettiness like this on show...and the giant Chanel bag pictures are almost too much to bear! The guys are traveling around the world over the next few months so be sure to get in touch if you want to be captured by them. You can see where they are going and when on their blog. Thanks David and the team for sharing as always! Credit: Axioo

Prop City

Funfairs may have been 'done' in terms of what the cool kids say is 'in' but who gives a monkey's about what they think? It's the same with balloons, candy floss and even sun flair...pah I say to that! The funfair is the perfect backdrop for an engagement shoot - fun, colourful, playful and prop city! I want a photo shoot in at a fun fair in fact. Any offers?! Can't get enough of this beautiful stuff? Well go check out Sandy & John's gallery right here Thanks to Shannon for sharing this adorably perfect session Credit: Shannon Nicole Smith

An Engagement Session on Steriods

Kat

November 25, 2009

Part two of today's love for The Philippines comes in the form of these stunning images sent by Jeffroger Kho. Arthur & Sheilan are one seriously cool couple and I am nuts about that purple dress! Jeffroger described this session as 'an engagement session on steriods' and I certainly have to agree. It's not everyday a photographer shoots a couple in a spooky, abandoned house that looks like it belongs on an Asian horror movie set or on a windswept beach standing in a box and wrapped in clingfilm! These shots seriously wouldn't look out of place in Vogue and I am smitten. Thanks to Jeffroger for thinking of me and knowing how much I'd love these when he sent them over!

November 25, 2009

I'm having a bit of a Philippines love fest today because as many of you will know I seem to adore everything that comes out of that country. The photographic style is so elegant yet so quirky, so fashion-let but so personal. Love love love. I'm starting off with newbie photographer Joey Boquiren who sent me Filmore & Margaux' engagement session...now tell me I'm wrong! Super stylish yet super sweet and personal right? Faaabulous Thanks to Joey for sharing these

Indie Rock

November 23, 2009

Hello again you gorgeous creatures, I hope you didn't miss me too much this weekend (although I was pretty rubbish at staying away - my phone kept me up to date quite nicely with Twitter and Facebook!) I'm starting this week off with a bang, firstly with the adorably indie Leanne & Nate and their beyond perfect engagement session. Photographer Noa has really been making waves in blog land over the last few months and as always it is my absolute pleasure to share this session that she sent me. As always thanks Noa. You rock my world! People, hold on to your knickers and pop back here in a few hours to find out your three finalists for the Erica Berger Trash the Dress contest. In the words of Dermot O'Leary "They'll need your votes!" (I understand that only makes sense if you're in the UK but oh well!) Credit: FeatherLove Photography

NEWSFLASH!

Kat

November 21, 2009

Stand by for the announcement of the year...Yes I, Kat Williams obsessed with all things blog am taking the weekend OFF! "Holy crap" I hear you cry, "How is such a thing possible?" Well you're right, this will be my first weekend away from the blog since...well...January I reckon. How ridiculous is that? Gareth & I are heading to a family event and whilst I would normally work my fingers to the bone the week before scheduling posts over the weekend so you wouldn't miss me, I've decided that I really could do with a bit of a break and this weekend away to just concentrate on me and Gareth, not worry about moderating comments, replying to emails or checking my twitter. Therefore if you do need to get hold of me you'll just have to wait! Have a good old weekend people. Love you all! But hang on, I couldn't leave you with nothing could I? No no no no....let's hope these keep you busy until I return. Why not also take the time to go through the Rock n Roll Archives? There are 135 pages and 1341 posts of Rock n Roll wedding goodness on my little site. PLUS this weekend is your last chance to get those entries in for the Erica Berger Trash the Dress contest so do so, er..like now. Finalists will be announced on Monday!

Plucked From a Love Story

Kat

October 27, 2009

I actually can't get enough of Josephine Sicad's photography. Not only does each frame have that darling vintage tone to it, but every image just oooozes love...like you can tell how much she adores her work from the photographs alone...does that make sense or am I rambling again? The images also have that 'cinematic quality that I've always adored, like the boys of MangoRED before her, Josephine's image appear as if they could have been plucked right from a movie about a love story. Go check out her Facebook Fan Page for more more more of this set! Thanks again to the ever lovely and wonderful Josephine for sharing these with me...I may be your new biggest fan!
