Lottie and Dave were married at the Union Club in Soho, London. As they planned everything from Hong Kong, where they now live, they didn't see it until two days before the wedding but it ended up being completely perfect for what they wanted. They didn’t want a specific theme, just for it to feel like them. That meant photos in guitar shops, Chinese Lucky Cats, the men in kilts, NOLA jazz and a live jam session.

The wedding theme for Catherine and Tom's summer celebration was simply all their favourite things coming together into a colourful mish-mash. This translated to colourful flowers, homemade cakes, high street outfits and a fun-filled barn reception. They tied up lots of greenery from the woods with ribbons along one wall of the space and because the barn didn’t have lighting, they strung up loads of festoon and fairy lights for the evening.

There was one overriding theme for George and Jordanna’s big day - you’ve got three guesses for what it could possibly be! “We were inspired by reading the blogs of other couples on Rock n Roll Bride and how they did exactly what they wanted,” explained Jordanna. “We wanted our day to reflect our love for each other, and our other true loves; our cats Conker and Boots! However it was important to us for it not to be tacky; we wanted it to be in a sophisticated and at times, humorous way.”

Elemental Weddings

Raych and Stu are both creatives, so their imagination ran away with them a little when they dreamed up their wedding day. The initial inspiration was Midsummer Night’s Dream - an ethereal, boho, garden vibe with touches of magic throughout. No matter where their dreams took them, they stuck to two non-negotiables for decision making for their big day - every element should be about them and their guests instead of following a tradition, and it had to be eco-conscious; everything would be be reused, recycled, environmentally friendly, or where things were bought, they would be from small businesses.

Charlie and Mark had a pretty unconventional, NSFW engagement shoot (which is actually one of my favourites we've ever published!) so, unsurprisingly, their September wedding shunned tradition too. They decided that they wanted a bohemian inspired by with elements of Peaky Blinders and Wes Anderson. They did lots of DIY projects to make their day feel really special and personal. In particular they arranged all the flowers and created all the paper goods (invites, table plan, order of the day etc).

It came very naturally to Zoë and Gav to have a day that reflected their true personalities and to make choices that felt right to them.  “I’ve never understood why girls who have never set foot in a national trust in their lives suddenly want to get married in a stately home,” said Zoë. “Maybe its just nice to be someone else, someone more fancy and regal for a day?”
