Both their grandparents were married on Christmas Eve (what are the chances!?) so when they pushed their big wedding back to later this summer, Millie and Ian decided to carry on the family tradition and have a secret festive elopement. It was also the two year anniversary of their engagement so really, the date felt pretty perfect.Read more...

If the pandemic has taught us anything it's that low key can still be really lovely! For Sabrina and Chris, who got married a few weeks before Christmas, this was absolutely the case. They had a Registrar's Office ceremony, followed by a quick pitstop in Starbucks to call some loved ones who couldn't be there, rounding the evening off with a meal with their two witnesses at the bride's sister's house.Read more...

Dan and Cara's woodland wedding ceremony was pulled together in just 24 hours! Having their big summer wedding postponed for obvious reasons, they changed their plans to have a smaller wedding in November. However, then a second lockdown was announced just two days before they were due to get married, it meant their previously COVID-secure wedding was now a no-go too! With the help of the wedding planner at Cheshire Woodland Weddings, the registrars and their families, they re-arranged everything in just one day and were able to have their 13-guest ceremony on November 7th.Read more...

Unintentionally, Vicky and Jake's September became vintage London themed because they wanted to show off the city that they love. They chose Chelsea Old Town Hall as both their ceremony and reception venue, booked a vintage double decker red bus and planned their photos around some of the most iconic tourist attractions. Décor and theme wise they did keep things pretty simple, choosing simple DIY floral arrangements that let the venue be the star of the show.Read more...

Brad and Joolz chose 27th July 2019 for their wedding so didn't think they'd have to worry about the weather... however the universe had other ideas! Despite having a mostly outdoor day planned, and it being scorching hot the week before, it chucked it down all day. Rather than stress about it through, they grabbed some umbrellas, moved their ceremony inside the tipi and embraced the chaos.Read more...

Harry and Abi, affectionately known as Habi by their friends and family, planned for the big 2020 wedding which was obviously scuppered due to a little thing called the COVID-19 pandemic. However, not wanting to wait a whole year to be legally married, they kept that August 24th date and did the micro wedding thing, with an intimate ceremony at Chelmsford Register Office followed by a small, government-approved outside gathering for just a few people in their back garden.Read more...

Although they didn't want a themed wedding, Kate and Max were inspired by autumn, Halloween and their favourite movie, True Romance, for their October 2019 wedding. The timeline of their day was in reverse, and although this wasn't what they initially wanted, it was a happy accident and in the end they were really pleased that they did it this way. Plus, it meant Kate was able to justify two wedding dresses!Read more...

Lexi and Tom chose Islington Town Hall and Green Rooms, a local bar/ hotel, as the locations for their November 2021 wedding. It was important to them both that the day was as stress-free and fun as possible so they decided to ignore the traditional timeline and do an evening-only wedding with their ceremony at 5pm. They got ready together at home with their mates, wore coordinating pink outfits and matching Adidas sneakers, walked down the aisle to KC & Jojo and had a reading from Fleabag.Read more...

Gema and Matt's original wedding was June 7th, on their five year anniversary, for which they'd planned to wed in New York City, honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur and Bali and then have a big pub reception back home afterwards. It was due to cost them £25k but when Covid scrapped those plans they took the opportunity to re-evaluate everything. Although they still plan to have another big wedding next year, they really didn't want to have to wait a whole year to be legally husband and wife.Read more...

Ruby and Jamie's woodland wedding was inspired by their venue. They knew they wanted to get married in the woods, and when they found Captain Wood Barn, they knew it was perfect. They were married in August and chose a burgundy as their main colour, reflected in the groom's suit, the bride's lipstick, shoes and crown, and the flowers.Read more...

When it came to choosing a venue for their October wedding, there was only one place in contention - Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. “The venue really set the tone for our wedding,” Becky explained. “It’s a stunning old church in the West End of Glasgow, which is now a restaurant and theatre. I was the last baby to be christened there when it was a church so to us if felt like a no brainer that that is where we should get married.” It’s beautiful gothic setting with medieval vibes suited the couple - as lovers of autumn, they wanted an October wedding to make the most of the beautiful crisp nights that Glasgow has to offer and their children are Halloween obsessed, so they let all the kids change into fancy dress for the reception.Read more...

As parents themselves, Arron and Casey based their wedding around how they felt when they took their kids to other peoples weddings. “I wanted everyone to feel comfortable,” the bride explained. “It didn’t matter to us if children were running around crazy, in fact we put everything into making it the sort of atmosphere that our friends and family would want to bring their children along to.”Read more...

Hannah and Bob’s love story is particularly sweet. “One of our mutual friends hosted a barbecue that we both went to,” Hannah began. “My son (who was dressed as Jack Sparrow and behaving like a pirate!) took a shine to Bob and spend most of the day playing with him, leaping on him and calling him ‘Mr Poopypants’. I couldn't help but fall for the handsome giant who clicked so well with the most important person in my life!”Read more...

Having a relaxed atmosphere at their February 29th wedding was one of the most important factors for Samantha and Jon. They also wanted to play homage to a couple of their favourite TV shows. Their tables names were F.R.I.E.N.D.S themed, each table named after one of the characters with a quote from the show to make people laugh and Samantha walked down the aisle to a slowed down cover of the theme. The groomsmen's attire was inspired by Peaky Blinders, complete with flat caps!Read more...

Becki and Mark thought long and hard about what they wanted from their wedding day - they didn’t want to include traditions for traditions sake, and tried to include as many of their friends and family as possible, both in the preparations and in getting involved on the day. They wanted it to feel a bit quirky, homegrown and to be as eco-friendly as possible, “We wanted the day to be as enjoyable, informal and relaxing for our guests as possible,” explained the bride. “We’ve had some great feedback on that front, which was lovely to hear!”Read more...
