Mel and Tim met when they camped next to each other at Glastonbury and when planning their wedding, their starting point was that they just wanted to have a fun party. They also wanted to avoid anything too formal and 'wedding-y'. They chose Stour Space in Hackney as their venue as it was relaxed and a little rough around the edges, which they liked. Their wedding was held in the evening, in winter, which further added to the party vibes.

They wanted to recreate their first meeting at their wedding, so decided it should be funfair themed. They also wanted their wedding day to be a celebration with their loved ones while listening to great music and, of course, with the smell of popcorn in the air again.

Most of their wedding elements were crafted, borrowed, gifted, or thrifted, which added to the vintage feel. They originally chose hot pink for their colour scheme (Brad’s favourite colour), but then decided to have ALL the pinks, plus neutrals, navy blues and midnight blues.
