I am jealous, elated and over-excited all at the same time after discovering Piksi's flickr stream. Have you ever seen a girl with such an amazingly polished style? The 60's vibe is perfect for her pixie cute look, I would go crazy if I was to find a wedding in the same style. Imagine Bridesmaids in some outfits like these...<Read more...> Some of my fashion highlights of her gorgeous clothes (that I want to steal) include - her adorable heart bag from Minna Parikka, the cream, ruffle-topped dress by IVANAhelsinki and the swing, pleated grey coat from H&M...man, my wardrobe is so dull!

Jess & Mike were really excited about having a really low-key party where their friends from all over and families could all be together and that's exactly what they delivered. The wedding was all in one place at the Valley Green Inn up in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. It was a quick outdoor ceremony officiated by Jess' uncle. The couple chose not to have rings and opted for a very simplistic approach to their flower, using little bundles of wild flowers for the bouquets. Jess made her own gorgeous red dress out of a vintage evening gown and also made all the decorations inside the restaurant which included tin can lanterns, string lights and a garland hung from the ceiling. Jess and Mike weren't too concerned with lots of family groups, but more with photos of everyone hanging out and having a good time. Colin Leaman came along to assist the main photographer Amanda and set up a little photo booth area for which Jess brought along tons of hats and wigs and other props for her guests to use in the funny photos. As an added touch, the couple requested friends and family write down three songs that they would love to hear at the wedding on their invitation replies so that evertbody got to hear something they liked at the receptionRead more...

Melissa and Nate had a perfectly personal wedding last May in Logan, Utah. Melissa's wore a vintage dress, and Nate's suit was pinstriped and fitted. They had one of their favourite bands, Mates of State, playing throughout their reception and the whole day had a homely, indie, persoanal feel. The couple DIY'd a-plenty including the framed bride and groom silhouettes that Melissa made and the cake, which was made by the groom's sister.Read more...

These are too gorgeous for words. I am c-c-crazy about this sexy 1960's 'desperate housewife' inspired engagement shoot from Ryan of RCJones Photography. The glasses in particular are so super sexy! The couple also starred in an equally gorgeous modern day shoot, so be sure to head over to Ryan's blog to check that one out too!Read more...

So about 6 months ago I received an email from Wedding Ideas Magazine saying our wedding had been submitted to them as a Real Wedding feature by our photographers English Rose and would we be happy for them to share them. Being the huge poser that I am, of course I said yes. So I picked up a copy of the magazine today and although some of the photographs they chose I don't really like (I think my face looks huge in the pain photograph for example!) and the article is beyond a cheese-fest, it is a little bit exciting to be in print...and can you believe they even called me a Rock Chick...maybe they knew...Read more...

Susan and Scheffer Ely (they already sound like rock stars!) got married at a property outside of the town of Mariposa (which is on the way to Yosemite). The couple did tons of work on the property and totally DIY’ed the lot. They did all of the adorable flowers in the trees, made the chandeliers over the dining area out of Manzanita branches and they even constructed a flame burning giant flower sculptures that decorated the pool area! They also had a self-portrait photo area where guests could dress up in costumes and take their photo.Read more...

Lisa and Dan originally planned a big wedding in Mexico, but changed their minds to do something a little more them: Vegas Style! After an intimate wedding, they were whisked them away from the family for a little adventure, a little mischief, and a whole lot of fun! In addition, Lisa also decided to forgo the big traditional wedding dress she had originally purchased, and instead went for a short wedding dress jazzed up with some brand new RED converse to fit their wedding theme!Read more...

The idea of a 'vintage wedding' had been thrown around so much in recent years that the idea has kind of got diluted. It seems that any wedding can now be deemed as 'vintage' as long as the Bride is wearing pearls! In fact many of my photographer friends joke (no names mentioned!) 'ooh I just got booked for another vintage themed wedding.' However this wedding is nothing like all the rest - it is quite clearly a truly vintage themed wedding...I just love it!Read more...
