December 1, 2013

Wedding photographer Morgan Wade had been dreaming of a bridal shoot in an overgrown forest for ages. Eventually she plucked up the courage to just go out and shoot it, and she brought an amazing team along with her. "My initial goal was to create a sort of anti-editorial; something that would appeal to a wilder kind of woman", she wrote. "A bride who wanted to sidestep all the pretty stuff and just go for raw. I knew it wouldn't be for everyone, and that's okay. Somewhere out there are women who have to hold back the urge to howl at the moon; those are my brides."

Mallory and Euan's wedding was held in the bride's Grandparent's house in Seattle. They had the ceremony in the front garden, overlooking the ocean, and the reception in the back! "I would say the biggest thing that defined our wedding was he fact that although we live in London, we decided to have the wedding in my hometown, Seattle", Mallory began. "Ever present in our minds were the constraints of logistics, timing and budget. We both arrived in Seattle three weeks before the wedding for a marathon of final preparations, crafting and trying to squeeze in quality time with all the amazing friends and family who helped to keep us sane."

October 24, 2013

Kat and Andrew had a colourful wedding and took inspiration from the bride's tattoos and of times gone by. "We planned our wedding by the rule ‘do what you’d do if you didn't know what was done’, as we didn't want to go along with traditions that we didn't understand or necessarily agree with", Kat wrote. "We both saw our wedding day as an opportunity to throw a massive party for all of our family and friends, which made planning so much more fun! It’s far easier to be creative when you’re not preoccupied with what you think you ought to be doing, or with what you think people expect of you."

Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."

October 14, 2013

Cassandra and Howard were married at The Roost in Dalston, London, a photographic studio and shooting location. Because it wasn't a traditional wedding venue it meant their whole day was really chilled out and non-traditional, but also that they could completely plan it the way they wanted. "We’d had a really small and intimate wedding ceremony in Cornwall with just our immediate families so we wanted to throw a vintage wedding tea party for friends and relatives here in London", began the bride. "The Roost was an amazing find. It's a former Victorian pub in deepest, darkest Dalston converted into a four floor photographic and film shoot location. My heart skipped a beat the first time we viewed it. It was perfect. I just loved the eclectic vintage vibe and ‘out there’ style of the place. From the gorgeous House Of Hackney wallpapers, to the giant props, old film posters and quirky paintings on the wall. We were just blown away."
