Courtney and Nick wanted a day that didn't break the bank. They managed to keep the costs down by shopping in charity shops, accepting help from family and friends and DIYing a lot! They put the flowers together themselves, had a playlist instead of a band or DJ and made their own stationery. Both of their outfits were "lucky finds on the internet". Alex and Sophia were married at Stoke Newington Town Hall, followed by a reception at The Draper’s Arms pub in Islington, London. They day had a subtle vintage vibe - from Sophia's Jenny Packham dress and Flo and Percy headpiece, to the retro photo booth and polaroid shots their photographer Lisa Jane took! On May 3rd, and with just £5000 to spend, Charly and Phil were married at Church of The Good Shepherd in Tadworth. They had their thrifty reception in the church hall next door! The bride wore a Nataya 'Titanic' dress and carried a homemade crochet bouquet. They saved cash by DIYing pretty much everything, from the flowers to the cake to the catering! No joke, these babes are some of the nicest human beings you will ever meet. For years now they've been the go-to store for vintage wedding dresses, and in 2013 they expanded their range to include made to measure designs. All lovingly handmade in Britain, they wanted to be able to help every bride, whatever her shape or size. They love their vintage gowns, but with vintage sizing being stingy at the best of times, it was really hard for them to cater to anyone over a size 12.Read more...

The bride wore a stunning 1960s vintage wedding dress which she found at Luxe Bridal and instead of a traditional bouquet, she carried dried flowers (!!) from The Artisan Dried Flower Company. I fell in love with Erin and Jon's budget wedding as soon as I saw it - I loved the cute, affordable and easy-to-DIY details, the beautiful venue and the bride's lilac dress (which was actually a bridesmaid's dress from J Crew). The day was held at Shadowbrook Restaurant in Captiola, California on the bride's birthday (!) and was planned, in the most part, by her mother. She did almost everything herself, from chalk painting the mason jars to making the dessert trays from using vintage plates and tea cups.Read more...
