From the bride in a denim jacket with a custom patchwork back and Dr Marten boots, the skinhead groom in a 3-piece tartan suit, and their kids rocking mohawks, it really doesn't get more authentic than this! Oh and Kat found her dress on eBay - in her exact size - for £100!

Ellen and Rory were married at Cottiers, a bar, restaurant and theatre venue in the West End of Glasgow. Their day had a bit of a Mexican fiesta feel with the oilcloths and paper banners from Viva la Frida. They also had hand stitched bunting and dried chillis hanging from the ceiling! Most of all though they just wanted a fun day to celebrate with their friends and family.

Harry and Vanessa's barn wedding took place in September. The day was relaxed, fun and geeky, they also had a cheerful blue and yellow colour scheme. "We gave up on picking or really sticking to a particular theme", wrote the bride, "instead we just used anything we liked – it was much easier that way, and felt a lot more personal!"

With a surname like Wildblood, Dean and Jen's wedding was never going to be boring. In fact they wanted their wedding to be just like them - quirky, stylish, fun and with a hint of vintage. Jen wore a Vivienne Westwood wedding dress and jewellery, and Dean looked dashing in his Reiss suit, Thomas Pink tie and Kurt Geiger shoes.

They wanted their day to be quirky (like them!) but also fun for their guests. They had retro games set up on the balcony of the barn and devised various drinking games, matching their theme, for their guests!

Yes, Aaron and Vicky planned for their entire summer wedding to take place on Willow Farm, Vicky's family home.

This is definitely a wedding I wish I was at. Louisa and Richie sure do know how to throw one hell of a party! The styling for the celebration was really centred around their venue - the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall called The Ditch. An unusual choice maybe (and one with no natural light!) but it fit perfectly with what the couple wanted. Louisa's dress was designed by Catherine Deane. She wore Badgley Mischka and her veil was vintage.

Cat and Paul did things to suit them - completely. Not being a girly, girl or ever wearing dresses, two weeks before the wedding the bride decided to go with what made her feel comfortable. That meant wearing jeans, and not doing a 'grand entrance'. She didn't walk down the aisle at all, in fact there was no aisle. She and Paul greeted their guests together as they arrived.

The day concluded with a massive party blow out in a marquee in the back garden of the pub where they had their first date.

Their theme was a vintage street party and having the day in two places meant the bridal party got a ride in a stretch Chevy limo midway through, complete with retro jukebox pumping out some old school tunes!

Katie and Dan had a teeny tiny wedding (just them and their parents!) at The Summerhouse on the Millbrook Estate in Devon in December. Because they kept their guest list so small, they were able to do exactly what they wanted and to pull it all off for under £8000! Their smaller than average budget certainly didn't mean they had to compromise on the things that really wanted. Katie had a custom wedding dress made by Jo at The Couture Company and they booked the amazing Shell de Mar to shoot the day.

Cathie and Claire were hitched at Glenmore House. Their wedding was bright and full of fun! The pair both rocked amazing outfits, Claire in a red Candy Anthony dress and headpiece and Cathie in a corset from Fairy Gothmother and trousers by Vivienne Westwood. At their reception they had a popcorn cart, bunting, vintage suitcase for cards and vintage vases and jam jars for the flowers with tea lights.

Helen and Toby's rainbow wedding took place at Coombes Farm in Lancing. The didn't have a huge budget, £8000, but they made it go far with plenty of personal touches and DIY projects. The cakes, flowers and stationery were all done by friends and they didn't hire a fancy caterer to feed their guests. Instead of gifts they asked their guests to each bring their favourite dish!

Do you watch the BBC Three show Don't Tell the Bride? When I was engaged I was pretty obsessed. Gareth and I would sit together to watch it every week and my favourite game was quizzing him over what he'd do if he had to plan our whole wedding himself.
