Oh Danni and Ben, your wedding gives me LIFE. I am so excited to share it on the blog today. This gorgeous heavily-tattooed pair were hitched in Maidstone, at a venue called Kent Life. "Our wedding theme was a bit of a mixture of 1950s, rural farm life and a tea party!" said Danni. "We love the 1950s anyway, I have a huge collection of dresses already and we just love the music and the dancing. I really love that our wedding was personal to us and wasn't generic."Read more...

Chris and Jen wanted a bohemian, outdoor wedding inspired by their love of festivals and each other. "We're lucky to be able to have a pretty bohemian lifestyle", the bride said. "We like to travel and we like to let our hair down at festivals. Many of our friends come from theses and other creative pools. Chris has African roots and we both wanted to acknowledge this in the symbolism and ceremony of our day. So I guess our theme was... us?"Read more...

I often say that the weddings I blog are like my children, and to choose a favourite just wouldn't be possible or fair. But Carly and Tom's is definitely way up there. Not only because I've known Carly for ten years (she was the first person I met at University and we've been BFFs ever since), not only because I was maid of honour (my first time being a bridesmaid no less!) but because it was such a wonderful and special three days and I just know you guys are going to love nosing at their beautiful pictures just as much as I did.Read more...

I'll admit, I don't always watch BBC Three's Don't Tell The Bride, but I'm so glad I caught Rosa and Harry's episode. In fact it's probably my favourite wedding that's ever been featured! For those of you that don't know, the premise of the show is the couple get £12,000 to spend on their wedding, the proviso being that the groom does all of the planning... in three weeks! The couple are separated for that time and bride can know nothing about the wedding until the day. Cue ridiculously bad decisions, overspending on crazy things and tears... lots of tears. This is reality TV gold my friends.Read more...

Flo and Matt wanted a relaxed wedding that bucked tradition and felt like them. "We started out fighting against traditional wedding themes, looking for something that represented us", began the bride. "The venue was the way-in to planning for us. We were keen to find a venue with accommodation but a relaxed feel in Herefordshire. We viewed many venues including yurts, country houses and a priory but knew on the approach to Lyde Court that it was the place for us."Read more...

Aimee and Lenny met when they were both working in Cruise Liners in the Caribbean in the early 2000s. "It was far from love at first sight", laughed the bride. "I used to think Lenny was a bit of an idiot! After we both left the ships we stayed (loose) friends on Facebook and in 2009 started a conversation on a photo that went like this: Aimee, 'You look fit Lenny! You're aging well!' Lenny, 'Why Thank you! No-one has ever told me I look fit before! Will you Marry me?' From there we started messaging one another about our 'fake' wedding. It eventually progressed to normal conversation, then daily chat which went on for a couple of months. It soon became apparent that, bizarrely, we were falling in love over our written messages (which we cutely called 'Love Mail' because Lenny's surname is Love!) So, eight years after we'd worked together, I arranged to meet up with this guy (who I used to hate) and who's emails were giving me butterflies. It was supposed to be for one night but I ended up staying for a week. And that was that!"Read more...

Nat and Drew's Brixton wedding was pretty, sparkly, but most of all a celebration for them and their friends and family. "Our inspiration was us", the bride said. "We planned the kind of party we wanted to go to. We chose London because it’s where we have made our home together, but we wanted to put our hearts into it and it just sort of evolved that way. The day was for us, and if we were happy then everyone else would be too."Read more...

Lauren and Mike spent just £2500 on their gorgeous wedding. They were inspired by two things - the movies and lavender. "We had lots of references to the movies", the bride said. "We are both massive film geeks and we couldn't not have that represented on our big day. We had little hints scattered all over the place, including our Star Wars photo booth, movie quotes and movie poster illustrations around the venue, marvel confetti cones, and Mendl's boxes for wedding favours from The Grand Budapest Hotel."Read more...

I'm always so impressed when I hear that a bride made her own wedding dress, I mean damn girl, that's some skill! When Tess married James she knew she wanted to have a go at making it herself so she'd have something completely one-of-a-kind to wear.Read more...

A second-hand dress, a home made felt flower bouquet and henna on her hands, Kate looked every bit the Rock n Roll princess when she married Nathan in September. "We both love vintage and historical things, so that influenced a lot of our decisions", she said. "I'm also really passionate about reusing and upcycling things and we both love animals, especially our little dog, Mustard."Read more...

Kelly and Thom wanted their wedding to be inspired by their love of travel, but with fun little unexpected touches. They weren't constrained by a particular theme, they just picked things they liked, such as having a 'Herbie' Beetle as their transport! The ceremony was held at Old Wardour Castle and the reception at Spitfire House Farm, private farming estate owned by family friends.Read more...
