‘Drunk in Love’ Laidback Preston Court Wedding

Ellie Kime

Matt Parry

March 22, 2018

OK full disclosure: I’ve lusted after this wedding ever since I saw it on the incredible Matt Parry’s Instagram last summer. From the brief preview shots he posted of Becky and her black-clad bridesmaids posing on the steps of Preston Court to the handwritten flow chart table plan, it was obvious it was an incredibly special day full of laidback love, laughter, and some legendary stories. Nearly a year later, this has been confirmed, and it’s with total GLEE that I’m writing this up…

Looby and Ryan's big day was not at all traditional but incredibly personal, and that's why we love it so much. The couple eloped to beautiful Cornwall, with a ceremony in a refurbished rustic barn with just the registrar and officiants as their witnesses, followed by their 'reception': A night in in a beautiful cottage at the venue. We love their whole attitude towards wedding planning and how true to themselves they stayed - Looby and Ryan, we salute you!

I don't usually like to make assumptions about which weddings might be the most popular ones that we publish, but I'm pretty confident to state that I think you are all going to lose your collective shit when you see Lisa and Tom's wedding. Why? Well would you get a load of her DRESS!!! Before we move onto discussing anything else about this one, we need to talk about that immediately!

Adina and Richard did what many modern couples do these days: They legally married a few days before so they could really design a day that was truly them for their second ceremony. I mean, when you have a wedding that features piglets, your serve burgers for the meal and you have your cute dog following you down the aisle, you're always going to have an amazing wedding! In fact these two wanted their Frenchie to feature so much in their wedding that they had French Bulldog themed cake topper and they put her face on all the table name cards!

Dark Botanical Wedding at Islington Metal Works

February 23, 2018

Matt and Laura, who met at University, went for a dark botanical theme for their London wedding. They were inspired by their reception venue, The Islington Metal Works and used their prop store to source a lot of the decor. They also brought in lots of things from their own home (and the homes of their friends and family!) and handmade what they could. The DIY projects included their wish tree for guests to write on, and even the cabinet where they placed the wedding favours. They were collection of personal trinkets and curios that they'd bought from various flea markets in Berlin and San Francisco that would suit each guest. Guests were invited to look through the cabinet and find the one with their name on to take away - talk about going the extra mile am I right!? All-in-all this was one hell of a cool and creative event.

February 22, 2018

It’s not everyday that you get a first look involving a unicorn mask, but for Stuart and Angelica that was one of their must-haves – and quite rightly so. Their July wedding, described as “casual unicorns” with a dash of Scottishness, was organised in three months, and mostly long distance across the Atlantic too. Despite that, it also features a secret Alice in Wonderland twist and some pretty incredible gothic architecture too.

Bride of Chucky Themed Wedding in Dublin

Aoife O’Sullivan

February 18, 2018

Bren and Cha's spring wedding in Dublin was all about the fun. They moved between two venues in the city: The country pub, Anglers Rest, for the ceremony and then on to the reception at their favourite nightclub. The Grand Social. The bride paid €50 for her dress in a charity shop and got it customised to suit her style. Chucky and the Bride of Chucky made multiple appearances, and their friends played a huge part in the day from making the bouquet, decorating the reception venue, DJing, to making the wedding cake.

Megan and Ben's autumnal wedding took place at stunning Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean, where Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was filmed! It's also rumoured to have inspired J. R. R. Tolkien. Huge cool points from the get-go! Getting the legal bit sorted in the register office the week before freed the couple up to take full advantage of this amazing location, and also to have long time friend of theirs, James, officiate.

Through The Woods We Ran

February 8, 2018

So we all know a wedding day is, for the most part, all about the couple getting married. But when a bride and groom put just as much thought and effort into their guests having as much fun as they do, well you know you're into a winner. I also can't go on any further without calling out probably THE most amazing bridesmaid outfits I've ever seen! Tulle skirts, oversized sequin playsuits, HELL YES, I am so on board!
