Music Inspired Winter Wedding with an Alternative Church Ceremony!

Sophie Cooke

Sarah Morris

July 26, 2018

Music holds a special place in Katie and Darren’s heart - both musicians, Darren proposed at the gig of one of their favourite bands, and were introduced through musical friends. They’ve always liked to do things a little differently, and so it was obvious from the start that their wedding wouldn’t be predictable. Darren kicked off eschewing the norm when he wrote ‘yes!’ on Katie’s finger with a Sharpie instead of giving her a ring after he proposed!

Eleanor Jane

July 14, 2018

Melanie and Adam's October wedding was a super cute take on a Halloween theme, keeping everything super light, bright and airy at Oldwalls in Gower, Swansea. As an ex practical-SFX artist and with it being Melanie's favourite holiday, the couple wanted to evoke the imagery and colours, but most importantly the fun of it for all of their friends and family to enjoy. It was also a non-negotiable that her rescue chihauhau, Periwinkle, was able to take part in the day.

Enrico Cellotto Venice

June 13, 2018

We love to celebrate love on Rock n Roll Bride, which is why it's so nice to see alternative vow renewals as well as original ceremonies on here too. Jenny and Alan's is no different - on the 30th December 2016, they took to Venice with their four children to renew their vows (made on New Year's Eve 1991!) and looked every inch the gorgeous pair. Millie and Mitchell said their biggest aim for their wedding was to capture fun and personify it into a colourful, laid back, alternative day. They actually had two wedding days. The first was the legally recognised one at Portsmouth Register Office with 14 guests made up of their families and one close friend. They followed it with a breakfast of champions in Chambers restaurant then on to the arcades at Southsea Seafront in the rain. Then, three days later, they had a big forest festival style party with a second ceremony in a woodland shelter at the Sustainability Centre in Petersfield. Even with having two events, they kept the budget under £3k!

Rea and Rhi's colourful woodland wedding is not only beautiful to look at, it's a totally feelgood day too. Their inspiration for the day was about community, with everyone coming together to support them and celebrate their connection. There's a beautiful communal spirit that oozes out of these photos. And with a colour scheme that extended to 'hot pink, yolk yellow, orange, salmon and purple', it was also all things bright and beautiful!
