Ahh Spring, it always makes me want to clear up, clean things and get my shit together! So what's been going on this week? Well, not much in terms of particularly exciting activities... unless you count organising my desk exciting. I mean I know *I* do. Happy Thursday! This week was awesome, what with it being my birthday and all. I was well and truly spoilt by Gareth! Last week I spent five glorious days in Las Vegas. While a lot of people claim that a couple of nights in Sin City is more than enough, I couldn't disagree more! I had a great time and could have stayed for a month! I'll be writing all about my trip in epic detail soon (including sharing all about the David Copperfield and Britney Spears shows - both were incredible!) Another month has come and gone and we're now heading head-first into February. January was a particularly epic month for me with the launch of the print magazine and The Blogcademy Online!! While tooting my own horn might be terribly embarrassing, I do have to say that I am so incredibly proud of how both these ventures have been received. Last Thursday was just a little bit of an exciting day for me, which meant I totally forgot about Thursday Treats. I would say sorry... but, you know... I published a goddamn magazine so its more of a case of #sorrynotsorry actually! Last week was an utter whirlwind. It's just one week until Christmas and I got the BEST gift of all yesterday. I went to Giraffe Media HQ, the publishers of my new magazine, to sign everything off and send the first issue to print! It was very The Devil Wars Prada but much more friendly... I arrived and was presented with 'The Book' - a mock up of how the magazine will look in a binder. Flipping through each page made it seem oh so real. I can't bloody believe this thing is ACTUALLY going to be in the shops! Issue one hits the shelves on January 8th and will be sold in WH Smiths, Morrisons and some independent newsagents. If you can't find a copy locally, or you're not in the UK, you can also purchase a subscription online (details of which I'll be sharing as soon as it's ready!) It's been on a two week hiatus as I've been travelling so much over the past couple of weeks, but Thursday Treats is BACK with full force! I got home early on Tuesday morning. My flight (Auckland-Sydney-Dubai-London - OUCH!) landed in Heathrow at 6am and I literally RAN to customs to be first in line to get through. It's not that I just hate queuing, but because I had only a couple of hours until Gareth was hopping on a plane himself to go on a ski trip with my dad and sister! We had just over an hour together when I got home. I lay in our bed as he packed around me and we chatted about all the silly things married couples chat about. I missed him SO MUCH during my jaunt down under and having to say goodbye again was totally sucky, but I am so grateful that we did at least get to see each other.Read more...

It's that time again. It's the week before I go away on a big Blogcademy trip and I'm trying desperately to write and pre-schedule three week's worth of blog content before I hit the road. Something weird has happened to me this time though. Usually, I chain myself (metaphorically speaking!) to my desk, and bash them out easily. I know it's terrible to wish your life away, but I gotta say I am SO VERY excited for next year already. This week the release date of issue one of the new print magazine was confirmed. It'll be hitting the shelves on January 8th!! It's being stocked in WH Smith's, Morrisons (with other supermarkets TBC) and independent newsagents up and down the UK! Going from the past month or so of absolute chaos to this week, which has been relatively quiet, has been odd. That's not to say I haven't been keeping myself occupied (that magazine and this blog ain't gonna write themselves!) but I've said no to every invitation, turned down meetings and spent 99.9% of my time in my house, wearing sequinned sweatpants.
