There's so much I love about teaching The Blogcademy; meeting so many inspiring babes, travelling the world, talking about my favourite subject and getting paid for it... it's a pretty sweet gig.Read more...

On Thursday 24th July I'm hosting a networking party for those that hate networking parties. My fellow Blogcademy headmistresses and 75 eager blogger babes will be swapping business cards, making friends, sipping cocktails, nibbling on macaroons and dominating the photo booth all night long! Gala, Shauna and I will also be doing a live Q&A session where we'll answer as many blogging and business questions as we can live on stage. Finally, you'll leave at the end of the night with an army of new blogging BFFs and a bulging goodie bag full of treats!Read more...

My least favourite part of school was any kind of public speaking. I'd do anything I could possibly think of to avoid it. So no one is more surprised than me that talking to a room of people full of people is now my idea of a damn good time. It makes it a whole lot easier when I'm taking about the subject I love the most though: blogging!Read more...

This morning I hosted an hour long Q&A livestream with my Blogcademy babes from our Vancouver apartment. We recorded the whole thing, so if you want to re-watch it in your own time, or you weren't able to tune in live, you can right now!Read more...

Greetings from Heathrow airport! Terminal 3 does feel like it's become a home away from home for me recently. I actually quite like being here, especially as I have my airport routine down. I know which security line is likely to be the quickest (always wait with the single people with briefcases, even if the queue is slightly longer - never get stuck behind a family!) where to get the best deal on currency and who does the most delicious breakfasts (it's Rhubarb by the way...)Read more...

A little known fact about me is that I was a huge nerd at school. I think people assume that I must have been one of the rebellious ones, hanging out behind bike sheds and bunking off classes, but actually, I was super well behaved. It wasn't until I hit 15, discovered rock music and boys that didn't resemble pre-pubescent gremlins, that I became a bit more of a wild child!Read more...

The Blogcademy started as an in-person workshop. Bursting into the world in October 2012, we hosted our inaugural class in New York City. But when we flung open those metaphorical turquoise doors, we really had no idea if it would take off. We actually joked the day before that if no-one booked in we'd just have an elaborate sleepover in the space we'd hired and the internet would never know a thing about it. Luckily for us that didn't happen! Sixteen classes later and we've now taught over 400 amazing people all over the world. It's been an incredible ride so far but you ain't seen nothin' yet!Read more...

The night before our first Blogcademy workshop of the year I turned to Gala and squealed "I AM SO EXCITED!" It had been nearly six months since our last class in Auckland and I was dying to get cracking again.Read more...

Hello beautiful! This update comes to you from a very chilly Chicago, where I'm sat in my Air B&B digs with Gala and Shauna, hiding from the weather and planning our adventures in this brand new city.Read more...

I can hardly believe it, but in less than three short weeks I'll be hopping back on a plane and heading over to the US to kick off the next leg of The Blogcademy's 2014 world tour! I really can not wait to get back on the road and to be teaching again. It's such a thrill to meet so many new people and to be doing it with two of my very best friends.Read more...

Last year I attended, spoke at and organised more live events than ever before. While hard work, they are also incredibly rewarding and so much fun to do. I'm thrilled that doing them is such a huge part of my business now. The Blogcademy in particular has changed my life so much! The first live events I hosted were parties for blog readers and people in the wedding industry, I then moved on to doing small afternoon-long, in-person blogging workshops before launching The Blogcademy with Gala and Shauna in 2012. Needless to say I've learnt a lot of lessons about what does and does not work when putting on events.Read more...

You might think that teaching three workshops in three weeks would be enough, but not for The Blogcademy! In between our two Melbourne classes, Gala, Shauna and I flew to New Zealand for our final location of the year. Our venue was Generator, a super rad event space in downtown Auckland.Read more...

When we launched our 2013 Blogcademy world tour last March, we were blown away by how quickly the tickets started to sell, but no city was as fast as Melbourne. Within only a few days the class had sold out and so we made the executive decision to extend our trip down under and add a second date to the mix - and I'm so glad we did, Melbourne was one of my favourite cities to teach in all year!Read more...

I think I can safely speak for my fellow headmistresses when I say that this year has been a non-stop whirlwind of epic proportions! Since last October we've taught ten classes, with three still to come before the year is out. When we launched The Blogcademy in August last year we didn't know if anyone would actually want to come, so the fact that today we're announcing our SECOND world tour is pretty damn exciting indeed!Read more...

It's hard to believe that in just under a year The Blogcademy has taught over 300 women (and a few token men!) about blogging and how they can conquer their corner of the internet. When we first launched the workshop we thought we'd meet some people, teach them some stuff and that would be about it. Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine just what an impact attending this two day class would have on the attendees lives... and ours!Read more...

Oh my God, I'm BACK! I know it's a terrible cliché but these past two weeks have been a whirlwind of epic proportions. From Reading to Santorini to Mykonos to London (where we taught two back-to-back workshops no less, what were we thinking?!) Gala, Shauna and I haven't had much time to rest, but we've had the time of our lives in the process.Read more...
