Brandi & Chris' DIY wedding has a rustic western theme. The day took place at Temecula Farmhouse in California, a venue that really reflected their theme idea perfectly. The couple and their families worked hard on their DIY elements to create a day that was perfect for them. Chris' Father did all the flowers and centrepieces. I love how they used cowboy boots as vases, what a unique idea to tie the theme together! Brandi's Mother made the cake and her Godfather got ordained so he could officiate the emotional ceremony which took place outside the farmhouse.

"My husband and I met on New Year's day in 2007 after a persistent friend-turned-matchmaker insisted that we meet," began Carolyn, the bride, when I asked her to tell me the story of how she met Julian. "It wasn't love at first sight at all, in fact I thought he looked like an obnoxious guy! It was a done deal. We became inseparable ever since."

Laura & Andy's rockabilly wedding is pure class. Shot by the wonderful Chloe Browne of Caught the Light, the day exudes 1950's elegance and styling...with a big fat Rock n Roll twist! "We did things differently by really letting our personalities and our interests shine through our wedding preparations," began the bride. "Both ourselves and our friends are immersed in the music dancing and lifestyle of the 40s and 50s Swing and Rockabilly scene. It was inherent that I would wear a 50s style dress rather than a traditional wedding dress, that the details of our wedding would be centered around our love of vintage music, pin-up fashion, jive and jitterbug dancing, traditional tattoos, classic Chevy pickups!"

"I guess we’re Rock n Roll in our attitude about life," began the bride. "We are both vegan and our whole wedding was as well. We never let anyone get in the way of that despite some people trying to persuade us otherwise. We both grew up going to punk shows (he more than me..) and there’s a whole entire community of kids who just want to live a positive lifestyle. We both thrive off of that. One of the greatest things I love about my husband is his love of his family and his friends. He would do anything for someone, and does, when they ask. There is no hesitation. It’s an amazing virtue about him."

"When I was little, I dreamed of having my very own big, white wedding," began Hannah. "However, when Jack and I decided to get married and started to make plans, it became apparent that even if we’d been able to afford it, we’d both feel out of place at a huge, formal gathering. What we really wanted was to have a great party with our families and mates, a party that just happened to include a wedding ceremony. So we threw ourselves into the planning and tried to make it ours." And that's exactly what this Rock n Roll couple did! The entire day reflected them and the things they love.

Rebecca & John's beautiful Tennessee wedding took place at Almost Heavens Wedding Resort. With quirky details and elegant 50's styling, this really was a wedding worthy of Rock n Roll credentials. The bride wore a Paloma Blanca gown with awesome Irregular Choice shoes and a vintage veil that she found at a friend's yard sale. A friend of the bride who is a costume designer re-worked it for her to suit the style she was going for. She carried and vintage lace parasol.

"It sure is," came the response, "My lovely friend Rebecca was married last month in Gatlinburg, TN. Before her wedding, we did a very special photoshoot with her Aunt Dolly at a family home in Sevierville. Since Dolly is not only Rebecca’s aunt, but also her godmother, Rebecca had the idea to do a shoot where Dolly acts as her fairy godmother, who has come to get her ready for her big day. When I laid eyes on Lowina & Philsy's wedding the only thing I could said was "OMG so cute!" Seriously, you get that right? How adorable are they? Adorable in a kick ass Rock n Roll way though you understand... The couple, who met in 2006 at a fashion trade show in Hong Kong, got married in Philsy's parent's back garden in Victoria, Australia. It was important to the pair to not only plan a gorgeous wedding but to make sure it truly reflected them as individuals as well as their Chinese heritage. They also were certain it had to be unique and fun!

Rennie & Joe are the coolest. The couple, who have known each other for 19 years and were first loves, still felt marriage was important to them even after all that time. "Most would think that it must be boring to marry after such a long time and that we might just be going through the motions," Rennie told me. "On the contrary, our decision to marry was not because we felt we "had to" - we decided to marry after all this time because we are more madly in love than ever and still best friends. We created our ceremony around our wishes to deepen our commitment to each other and profess our love in the presence of those who are most important to us."

This gorgeous and rockin' bridal shoot took place in LA and was shot entirely with film, with virtually no post-production. The bride wore a Betsey Johnson dress and shoes and jewellery from Tarina Tarantino. Her cute parasol was from Chinatown Los Angeles.

James & Kassie got married at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek, Texas in an "earthy-vintage" themed wedding. The couple chose their venue because they felt it completely reflected the vibe they wanted for their day. "The outside ceremony site, decks for guests to hang out, trees everywhere…..it was just perfect," began the bride. " The venue allowed for simple accents and decorations, which was just what I wanted. The colors were bright and happy, however allowed for that earthy theme to mix right in. Down our aisle I had 1 ½ - 2ft tree trunks set along each side, with simple vintage bottles and daisy’s just to add the earthy-vintage flare. Our archway was designed with lilies and shells, with vines and curly willow, which added that perfect backdrop for our quick ceremony."

Brighton was the location for Jessica & Forbes' rockabilly wedding this summer. They chose May 1st as their date as it was Jessica's late Grandmother's birthday and having it on this day was their way of inviting her to the wedding. All the guests were invited to dress up in their finest retro get-up," Absolutely everyone joined in," the bride told me, "We were so convincing a hotel guest asked if we were a convention!"

Photographer Michelle met recent bride Jesikuh through a mutual friend. Jesikuh had always wanted to do a trash the dress/bridal shoot as she and her husband Chris didn't have professional photographs taken at their wedding and - in fact she didn't even have her own wedding dress! Luckily a good friend was happy to give her their dress to do what she wanted with it for the shoot.

Patti & Frank are just the epitome of Rock n Roll Bride! Whenever people ask me what my favourite type of weddings are, weddings like this one are what I describe - tattoos, DIY, short wedding dresses, fabulous bridesmaids and happy, smiling faces! Patti wore an original 1950's vintage dress, awesome shoes by Harajuku Lovers and feathers in hair. "I originally spent $2,000 on a custom made dress which I had designed myself," the bride told me. "Well I had someone who specialized in wedding dresses make it (first problem) and I guess our vision was not the same and I didn't like what she made at all! I went to Cambridge Antique market looking for some vintage brooches to jazz it up and the first thing I saw see when I turned the corner was this dress. I think it had a light shining on it with my name! It was meant to be and just a week before the wedding and it fit like a glove! Oh and the best part? It only cost me $150!"
