Celestial Meets Sparkle Wedding (with Dogs!)

Bryony said she always wanted to get married on their anniversary, so when she and James got engaged (on their 4th anniversary) and she realised that not only did their 6th anniversary fall on a Saturday but the date was 22/02/2020, it was settled! They opted for a celestial theme very early on and as shes not a fan of flowers, they didn't have any! From the paper flowers to the bouquets, the flower wall to the custom stationery and signs, all of it was homemade.

Amy and Emil tore up the wedding rule-book from the very beginning of their wedding planning; they held their big day in the bride's parents' backyard and kept it small and intimate. They didn’t have a bridal party, instead wanting all their guests to sit back and enjoy the ceremony together. They even got married on Friday 13th - unlucky for some, but as the couple started dating on a Friday 13th and got engaged the same date a few years later, it only made sense for them to continue their lucky streak!

A Celestial Meets Earthly Styled Shoot

Erin Balfour

What's really beautiful and original about this shoot is how it has cleverly positioned lots of opposites - the hard textures of the geometric ornaments versus soft textures like the velvets, and the earthly rock crystals and smoke next to the heavens and galaxies depicted in the tablecloths. It's created a styling synergy and a very interesting dynamic. Alongside these oppositional details, there are also elements that come together, echo and complement each other, creating yet another line of interest. There's way more here than meets the eye than just pretty styling for its own sake - there are connotations and depth to be experienced and inspired by.
