Marie and Arnie’s wedding didn’t follow a set theme. They didn’t have any elaborate decor or lots of guests to keep happy; instead, they went for what had always felt right to them—getting married high in the Queensland mountains. For them, simplicity was key, paired with the grandeur of nature. "We wanted something simple yet classy. Our dream wedding was always to get married in the mountains,” Marie told us.

Worried about rain on your wedding day? Well, don't! Not only is it something you literally can not control, but Ashley and Andrew's day proves that stereotypical 'bad' weather can make for the most beautiful images and special moments. They were married in October at Mt Hood in Oregon. They wanted their day to have a autumnal fairytale wedding with whimsical touches. They were inspired a lot by nature and the beauty of the area.

Snowy Rock n Roll Meets Game of Thrones Mountaintop Elopement in New Zealand!

If this elopement had a soundtrack, it'd be a very emotional rendition of You Take My Breath Away mixed with the Game of Thrones theme tune. Jess and Sam's beautiful wedding is a genuine breath-taker, as they got married at Glendhu Bay Lookout, which looks over the Mount Aspiring National Park. Fittingly, I am now aspiring to get to this national park, stat. Then, they took a helicopter ride to Fog Peak and, well, the photos speak for themselves.

May 2, 2013

Spring has very much sprung over here in the UK. And as the daffodils start to line streets and parkways, I usually forgo featuring any obviously winter weddings. After all, who want to be reminded of the cold and bleak mid-winter when it's so glorious outside?! Well Meghann & Nathan's wedding was different. They were married in the Colorado Mountains, where snow is a pretty regular feature. They also had a steampunk theme and only spent $2000 on the day, making it a wedding that I just knew you guys would flip out about. So, yet again, my self-imposed rules are being broken today. Oh well!

Intimate Living Room Wedding: Sam & Dave

Sam & Dave wanted an intimate ceremony, just the two of them, so they were married in their own living room. Afterwards they hosted their reception for all their friends & family at Zeitlos, a bar in Hamburg. "The inspiration for our wedding started with what we didn't want", began the bride. "We'd been to lots of weddings before and they showed us all the things we didn't want to have! We wanted a small ceremony just with the two of us, telling each other what we really feel without having everyone's eyes on us. This was really important to as as sometimes we're not that good at showing our feelings with others around (for example, at the registry office we first shook hands to congratulate each other instead of kissing!) We didn't want it formal and stiff and traditional, we wanted a party."

We may be finally edging our way into Spring but I couldn't help but share this delicious winter wedding with you today. Rather than avoiding the enviable snow situation, Briar & Simon embraced it with a winter wonderland theme and blue colour scheme! The wedding was held at Boynton Bros Farm in Ontario, Canada. The ceremony was held outside in the woods (brrr!) and the reception in on of the farm sheds (double brrr - these guys are HARDY!)

A Dramatic Alpine Wedding: Brie & Leonard

Kat

April 5, 2012

With a penchant for the dramatic, is it any wonder that I went a little gaga over Brie & Leonard alpine wedding? The black wedding dress, the intimate ceremony, the epic mountain top photographs...I love it all! The bride even had a rams skull (yes really!) instead of a bouquet. "Basically our story goes like this," the bride began, "Leonard and I are not really conventional people and despite a few failed ideas to do things more traditionally we quickly discovered that your wedding is not the time to be what you are not. So we followed our hearts to our dream wedding in New Zealand. Leonard proposed to me on the top of a New Zealand mountain in the snow, which was just magical, so we decided that a snowy mountain would make the perfect place for our wedding. We had no guests so we decided to use a helicopter to travel to a completely isolated place with no road access."

A Cancelled Wedding But a Perfect Marriage: Kiley & Nathan

Kat

March 6, 2012

Kiley & Nathan's Seattle wedding is sooo my cup of tea its unreal! Not only are these two clearly bad ass in their personal styling but the simple wedding focuses on what's really important - them, their wedding and their marriage. After an intimate ceremony on a beach, they planned their reception (pictured) for 6 months later. This wedding isn't full of 'details' or the pretty things us wedding bloggers usually go gaga over...no, instead it's full of the most important thing...the love! Ahhhh! "We got married July 20th in a small ceremony at sunset on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, where my husband is from," Kiley wrote. "It was amazing and perfect, very casual (I wore cut off shorts and vans!) and very us (Taco truck catered, bonfire and S'mores). But we also wanted to celebrate with all our friends and family and get a chance to dress up so we planned our reception for January 20th 2012, our 6 month anniversary, in Seattle where I am from."

‘Love on the Rocks’ – A Rock Music Themed Winter Wedding: Beatrice & Johann

Kat

February 23, 2012

Beatrice & Johann are true rockers, so what better theme for their winter wedding that the ultimate rock music party!? "Laughter, Party, Music...and a lot of Love" was how the newlyweds described their wedding theme. With music being such a huge part of their lives and love story, it was an obvious choice. They chose a hotel on the Bavarian Alps as the venue for their wedding and so their 'Love on the Rocks' wedding slogan we created.
