A Sunday Kind of Love: Looking Forward

Kat

September 2, 2012

On Friday Gareth & I packed up the car (again!) and drove down to Brighton (again!) for another School of Rock blogging workshop. The event was fabulous, my class were ace, and the whole thing left me with a warm n fuzzy feeling inside. As we drove away that night (slightly topped up with the celebratory after-workshop-wines - don't worry Gareth was driving!) I turned to him and gushed away about how incredibly blessed I feel. Like, how is this my life? As someone who tentatively dipped her little toe into the blogosphere all those years ago, I can't quite believe that people now line up to come and hear me speak about my journey. Like seriously... this is nutso. Even Darren Rowse of Problogger is singing my praises. Yeah no big deal or anything...

Brand New Date for the School of Rock Workshop: Brighton!

Kat

July 9, 2012

It's a huge cliché but I really have been truely blown away by the response to my School of Rock blogging workshops so far. Each event has sold out quicker than the last, with the most recent one being off the market within 8 hours! You guys really do know how to flatter me. I know I keep saying this too, but the last event, at Curradine Barns in the West Midlands has got to have been my favourite yet. The venue was stunning, the group that attended were awesome and we even got fed an amazing 3 course meal (all made in house by their head chef) afterwards! Triple win!

School of Rock Blogging Workshop at Muddifords Court, Devon

Kat

April 29, 2012

This week Gareth & I trotted off to Muddifords Court in Devon to host a School of Rock blogging workshop. As always I was super nervous on the drive down, but once we arrived and met Becky, Nicky & Pip my mind was put at ease. They were all so utterly lovely and made us feel extremely welcome! My four hour presentation went super quickly and, if I do say so myself, pretty swimmingly. There were so many questions which always makes me happy, and the attendees were all smiling and nodding along with what I was saying which is always a good sign I reckon!

Thursday Treats – 22nd March 2012: School of Rock, 2nd Semester Date Announcement

Kat

March 22, 2012

Wow what a day yesterday was. Bright and early Gareth & I bundled into my car and headed up to Sheffield for my School of Rock (n Roll Bride) blogging workshop. The day was held at the amazing Chimney House. It was perfect for our intimate event (20 students in total) and Sally and her team made us feel very welcome. All the students were girls which was lovely for me but poor Gareth was definitely picked on because of that! After my four hour presentation (don't worry we had tea breaks) and a lengthy Q&A session we all trundled off to The Milestone for dinner and drinks and to get to know each other a little better. I can't even tell you how seriously nervous I was about talking, I'm certainly not a natural public speaker, but I'm so incredibly greatful to everyone that attendeed for making me feel some comfortable standing up there whittering on. Knowing nods & smiles, the sound of notes being scribbled and plenty of questions made me feel a whoooole lot better. You girls ROCK!

New Tour Date: School of Rock (n Roll Bride) – Sheffield

Kat

January 12, 2012

Today I'm a little bit over excited (and a big bit nervous) to announce the first 2012 School of Rock (n Roll Bride) workshop. On Wednesday March 21st, Gareth & I will be hopping on our tour bus and driving aaaalll the way up to Sheffield, and I hope that 20 of you would like to join us! The 4 hour workshop (1.30pm-5.30pm) is being held at the fabulous Chimney House. From the feedback I received after the last two workshops I've decided to make the classes longer and more interactive. There will plenty of time for questions and if you'd like us to, Gareth & I are more than happy to go through people's blogs individually and give you some personal feedback.

So here we are, at the final instalment of the Rock n Roll Bride meets Ali Lovegrove series. I really hope you've enjoyed these videos and that some of you have found them useful. In the next few weeks I'll be working on my next vlog ideas so stay tuned (and as always, please comment below if you have any suggestions of topics you'd like me to cover or questions you'd like me to answer.) Again, much love to Richard of FX Films for filming this for us. Also sorry for the massive amount of wind in this video. We were pretty much against the clock when we filmed this last video and had no other choice but to brave the cold!

First off, huge thanks for all the positive feedback on last week's 'blogging basics' video. I am so pleased that so many of you found it interesting and useful. In this second part of our four-part mini series, photographer Ali Lovegrove and I discuss what to do in the first few months that your blog is up and running. Big thanks to Richard of FX Films for filming this for us. If you have your own business and would like to create your own promotion videos, I can't recommend his services enough!

Rock n Roll Bride TV – Rock n Roll Bride meets Ali Lovegrove ~ Part 1 of 4: Blogging Basics

Kat

April 6, 2011

After our Photo Night Live Skype interview a couple of weeks ago, photographer Ali Lovegrove spoke to me and said she still had loads of blogging questions that she'd like to ask me, so wondered if we could meet. Brainwave time! I've been meaning to do some more video blogs but finding the time to do so has been pretty difficult at the moment but Ali's idea seemed like the perfect new mini-series for the blog. Over the next 4 weeks, I'll be sharing the 4 videos that we filmed, all covering different aspects of blogging. I hope you find some of my tips useful. We were both pretty nervous, I was sick (brilliant!), my hair looks...erm...windswept... and we had to rush a little bit due to unhelpful staff at the bar we were in. Self-deprecation over, I hope the content will be useful for all you budding bloggers and the whole (slightly traumatic) experience will have been worthwhile in the end.

Rock n Roll Bride TV – Episode Two ~ Rainbow Mermaid Hair & My Top 10 Blogging Tips

February 9, 2011

Oh. My. GAWWD... Sorry I had to get that out of my system there! I have literately just landed at home after hectic but fabulous couple of days in London. If you follow me on Twitter, then you'll already know that yesterday was "The Big Fat Wedding Bloggers Photo Shoot" (the name started as a joke, and as a homage to my favourite wedding show ever - My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, but it's kind of stuck!). You see, I was pondering my next shoot at the end of last year and I thought, wouldn't it be great to get some of my blogging buddies involved too?

Rock n Roll Bride TV – Episode One ~ New Year, New Goals

Kat

January 5, 2011

It's that time of year again where we all start to think about how we will make the next 365 better than the last. I don't like new year's resolutions myself. Resolutions are things like giving up chocolate or going to the gym three times a week and are easy to break...in fact do you know anyone who is still following theirs by the time Christmas rolls around? Nope. Me neither. That's why I don't do them. However the start of a new year is a good time to regroup, to re-asses your situation and to set yourself some tangible goals. So here's one of mine, It's pretty self explanatory really...
