The bride made her own dress from Nottingham lace and Indian silk which she wore with a DIY birdcage veil. The groom, Steve, decided to surprise his British girlfriend by asking her to marry him while on a road trip from Nashville to New Orleans. He proposed on the banks of the The Angelina River and they were married in Austin four days later. The bride knew nothing about what was going to happen on the day. I fell in love with Erin and Jon's budget wedding as soon as I saw it - I loved the cute, affordable and easy-to-DIY details, the beautiful venue and the bride's lilac dress (which was actually a bridesmaid's dress from J Crew). The day was held at Shadowbrook Restaurant in Captiola, California on the bride's birthday (!) and was planned, in the most part, by her mother. They were married on the beach at El Pez Tulum, a boutique ocean-front hotel, in Mexico. KO and Bre wanted their wedding to be a beachy pin up fairytale wedding and I think they achieved that wonderfully! But they wanted something to remember this special time in their lives so they booked Joan and Jon of BellowBlue Photography for a photo session that completely optimised them.
