Fabulous 50’s & Multi-Coloured Tulle

Kat

June 22, 2010

As soon as a saw Catherine & Kev's fabulous 50's style wedding, my attention was drawn to one thing - that amazing Stephanie James Couture dress! I have been a superfan of the designer ever since I found and fell in love with this amazing multi-coloured tulle creation and OMG Catherine's had a similar underskirt. She too fell in love with this dress when I featured in a while ago. "My maid of honour, Kirree, found a dress on Rock n Roll Bride made by Stephanie James Couture" Catherine explained. "It was the 'Lustful' or 'Tame Fifi' dress you featured a while back, as soon as she sent me a link to the pictures I knew that was the dress I needed to get married in! I quickly got in touch with Stephanie and asked if she could make me a similar version and she said yes!"

Purple, Green & Everything in Between – Stunning Australian Wedding

Kat

June 8, 2010

OK so this was the Australian wedding that I'd planned on posting yesterday but me being a bit pink (as apposed to blond) I forgot about the crazy time difference between here and Oz so when I was emailing the photographers to get the info I needed, unsurprisingly they weren't replying because it was like 3 in the morning or something. Aaaanyway it matters not because NOW my babies I am able to share this fan-bloody-tastic wedding with you...and I'm so pumped to hear what you think. I literally wet myself with excitement when I saw Madeline's purple and green dress! Madeline & Nic decided very early on that they didn't want a traditional wedding - the bride's two sisters had both done the white wedding thing and although their days were beautiful and perfect for them, it wasn't quite right for this couple. "We are non-traditionalists (hence no white/ no flowers/ no favours/ no wedding cake/ no sit-down dinner) and we wanted a wedding that reflected our personalities and relationship. Bit crazy, lots of fun, different and unique" the pair told me.

Not only do they have a great selection of both authentic vintage and vintage inspired wedding dresses but they have something to suit every budget! Some of my favourites include the little white reception dresses (from $68), the tea length 50's inspired wedding dresses (from $130) and of course the more sophisticated Audrey Hepburn style dressses (which range from $500 to $1200.) Unique Vintage pride themselves on their unique, hard to find brands and

There's a little bit of a story behind the finding of this fabulous shoot and I thought in sharing it's gorgeousness I could also explain how it came to land in my inbox. As many of you know, my husband Gareth is an IT wizz and works from home. As sad as it may be, we love to watch Working Lunch together when I'm not at 'the day job'. One such afternoon there was a feature on Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation who works with 5-9 ers - ie people who are mad like me, work a full time job and run their own business from home too. So Gareth turns to me and says "You should drop her an email" and so I did. Making this connection has been fabulous for me as not only have I been featured on her site, am being used a case study in her upcoming book (hell to the yeah!) but she sends me regular updates on awesome other 5-9 ers that she thinks I need to know. LeKeux Events was one of these companies. As soon as I landed on their website I knew we'd be a perfect match and after speaking to Lyndsey over email it turned out that she already reads my blog! Aaaaanyway, to cut a very long story short (er) I saw this amazing Sugabily bridal shoot on their site and just had to feature it....you're going to go nuts for it! The dress and petticoat were ebay finds, but Lyndsey tells me she swooned over similar things on Vivienne of Holloway (who I ADORE by the way). Enjoy! Thanks to Emma for putting myself and LeKeux Events together and thanks to Lyndsey for sharing these wonderful shots with us today

Tattooed Lovelies Trailer Park Love Fest

Kat

December 20, 2009

I've got yet another wedding I've been waiting with baited breath to share with you as a matter of urgency. Lori & Jason's funky, punky, trailer part love affair wedding makes me squeal with excitement (especially when I saw the images of the couple getting inked together - hello, so awesome!)A vintage trailer park called the Shady Dell, a custom pink crinoline peeking out of the wedding gown, and tattoos on the spot are only a few of the awesome details of this wedding in Bisbee, Arizona. Shooting Lori and Jason at the Shady Dell was a blast. Lori looked fabulous in her Stephanie James Couture; it complemented her stunning body art. And the venue only added to mystique of the day; vintage Airstreams were the perfect backdrop for this hip couple who love all things vintage! And don’t forget the BBQ and potato salad on pick plastic plates! Thanks to Erin for sharing this fabulousa wedding with us today

Tulle Is Always A Good Thing

Kat

After featuring Kent & Roberta's cute engagements, I knew their wedding would be equally adorable but little prepared me for this. I am all about Roberta's own personal twist on her 'Weddings by Debbie' dress with the addition of a pink tulle underskirt, painstakingly sewn it by her Mother in Law - aww. Photographer Debbie has told me they have since done an awesome trash the dress shoot involving a bathtub - I can't wait to see the results. Credit: Englexas Photography
