The awesome Marianne Taylor (who shot my pinky, punky princess shoot) just sent me a selection of her most recent engagement sessions and Sam & Adam's jumped out at me right away. Not only have I got a unhealthy obsession with toy cameras right now (they used a Diana camera as a prop) but the couple are just to damn right funky for words. I am loving Mr. Whippy ice cream, the light up heart shaped display, the neon back lights and of course the fact that these images are quintessential London baby! Isn't this just one gorgeous couple? They seriously should be models methinks! Photographer Amelia travel to Utah to shoot this 'engagement' (the couple are actually already married, but hey why has a fact like that gotta stop you?!) Andie & Dave are just wicked! As photographer Channing Johnson told me, "the groom being a musician and having a lot of past and present band-member guests make them a very rock n roll couple! They also looked fab with their tattoos and bangs." Good enough for me! The couple, who met whilst both working at Newbury Street Comics, Boston, went back to the very street to reminisce and get these beautiful shots. Next up - the wedding! Faye & Mike's wedding may be stunning but what I love the most has got to be their fantastic portraits. Even though I'm not usually a fan of men in white suits for some reason it just works here - maybe it's the combination with the bright sunshine, the urban locations, Faye's Gwen-esque hair, or the bridesmaids brightly coloured outfits. These are certainly inspiring. Way to go Kella, thanks for sending these!

There is just something about Ashley & Tyson that I can't get enough of. Ever since I received these images from photographers J+C Photography I haven't been able to keep my eyes off them. The couple chose cars to be the main feature of their shoot. They started with a Ford Fairline but when the classic Chevy pickup pulled in they switched vehicles immediately!

Dave & Pam sure let their imagination run wild with their gorgeous wedding at Canada's Kopje Regional Park. The Bride is particular loves bright colours and so decided to reflect that in their day by organising and designing the whole thing herself. Her dress was by Maggie Sottero and the awesome stripey cake was made by Wedding Cake Creations. For the flowers they relied on the expertise of Art Knapp Plantland & Florists, which meant they got the perfect pink, orange and red (who says they don't go together!?) flower combo to compliment the rest of the decor. I love their completely non-boring group shots too! The photographers wanted to find something different and were worried that they might not in such a small town. However when driving one day, the spotted the a mechanic's garage on the side of the highway and after asking a pretty confused owner permission to use the site they had found their perfect spot. The antiquey sofa and the fun masks add a great finish to the shots and transform them into something that is anything but dull. I got sent a great photo session and a sweet sweet story from photographer Heather Kincaid yesterday and I just had to share. About a month ago I received an email from Amanda asking if I was available “for a photo shoot the last week of July.” Kind of a cryptic email… Having already shot their engagement session last year, I knew it wasn’t for that. So I had no clue what she was talking about. In a second email she revealed that she and Viet were planning to get married at the courthouse– just the two of them — and wanted me to come along to document their very intimate wedding day. I was so surprised! They made the decision that after eight years of being together, they didn’t want to wait any longer to be husband and wife and decided that on July 27th, their eight-year anniversary, they would make it official. It would be just the two of them making their commitment and celebrating their love for one another.

Karlie & Jamie only made the decision to get married three months before the day. A lot of their friends were getting married during the year and had spent months planning everybody else's weddings. So it wasn't until the very last minute, that the laid back couple decided to get engaged and then hitched literally straight away! Karlie's father is a pastor at their church so they started the day with a very heartfelt, personal service. They then went to a local park to have some cool portraits taken (they couple also had their engagement shoot here) and rounded off the day with a small reception in Karlie's parent's back garden. Do you remember Jen & Grant's McEngagements? Well the couple went and got married and there was no Mcdonalds in sight. Jen & Grant cleverly integrated the color blue as a tribute to grant’s favorite team duke as well as tying in a playstation theme (see cufflinks below), and left plenty of room for her obsession with skulls. the hampshire house wedding venue was transformed for jen and grant’s dream wedding. for the ceremony, grant’s best man served as the officiant by becoming a JP for a day, by getting his one-day marriage designation in the state of massachusetts. they had one of the coolest sets of bridesmaids and groomsmen i’ve worked with. after the ceremony, the newlyweds allocated a bit of extra time beyond traditional formal photographs to allow for some creative portraits walking around downtown boston in the boston public garden and an MBTA subway station. at the reception, DJ addam bomb provided music that had everyone on the dancefloor, including jen’s 86 year old grandfather rocking out to billy idol’s “white wedding.” if you are having a boston wedding and are looking for a DJ that can throw down great alternative music, yet still has a tasteful demeanor, this is your guy.
