Amelia and Tess were married in 2016, before Tess' transition. Since their wedding, Tess has come out as bi-gender, sometimes having days when they identify as male, but others when they're female. The couple wanted to celebrate Tess joining their family, so with the help of daughter Ivy they had a gothic styled, handfasting vow renewal in the same place they were originally married, Whistlewood Common in Derbyshire.

Self-confessed geeky feminists, Bunty and Sophie wanted a low key, low cost wedding that was full of love and personal details. "We’re both quite geeky so we wanted to have that reflected in the style of the day", Bunty explained. "We tried to incorporate science, plants, literature and my love of everything gold! We used Pinterest a lot to try budget ideas and of course Rock n Roll Bride!! We spent less than £5000 on the whole affair and we did everything ourselves with help from family and friends."

Please excuse me for one second while I FREAK OUT over this wedding. Seph and Jason completely epitomise what Rock n Roll Bride is all about, and no it doesn't matter one little bit that there's no 'bride' in sight! The single thing that makes this wedding awesome AF is them... Oh and the fact that Seph wore goddamn crystal embellished stilettos for the day and looked way better in them than most women I know... Oh and all the Mean Girls references. OK OK there are many, many things that make this wedding slay my entire existence and I KNOW you're going to love it to.

Oh, Alexis and Yiorgos. let me count the ways that I completely adore your wedding celebration! Married in September in Barcelona, they had a city hall ceremony followed by a bookstore reception in an industrial area turned artisan market just outside the city. Their wedding planner, Happy Endings Barcelona, did the most incredible job dressing the space with candles, chesterfield sofas, birdcages and flowers, and they pumped out a flog machine during the meal resulting in the most dramatic wedding breakfast ever!

As fantasy cosplayers in their spare time, there was no doubt in their minds that Joana and Maria’s wedding would be a fantastical fairytale! Drawing inspiration from all different areas - their participation in medieval festivals, their love of steampunk and all things rustic and fairytales; they didn’t want to be constrained by one particular genre so they just chose all the things they love.

Becca and Suzy met at work nearly a decade ago. They became good friends and that was it - until a drunken Christmas work do tipped their friendship into new territory - they haven’t looked back! Their intimate wedding was held at The Bond in Birmingham in November 2017. Loving how different it was from ‘regular’ wedding venues, and also in their old hometown of Birmingham, it felt right for the couple as they knew they didn’t want a typical venue - and that the surrounding graffiti-covered streets would make for awesome photos.

As same sex marriage was not yet legal where they live in Australia, Scott and Carlos chose to have their destination wedding in New York, which for them, represents a multicultural, vibrant and positive city where millions of different people co-exist. Being in New York meant they were able to forget all their worries - how LGBTQ rights were about to be put out for debate in Australia and the furore that surrounded it, about going back to an unknown future in their home country of Venezuela that was/is falling apart, or the daily struggles and challenges in their everyday lives - and simply celebrate their love.

It's not often a wedding literally stops me in my tracks but as soon as Emma and Ian's Las Vegas wedding landed in my inbox I was OBSESSED. Their email read, "Dear Kat, we got married at The Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas on September 21st. The bride is Emma, a funeral director, the groom is Ian, a musician and artist. We had planned a holiday visiting friends in Vegas and thought it was the perfect opportunity for a quiet, intimate ceremony… Oh and the groom is a crossdresser and insisted on having a dress too."
