As they both work in theatre, it’s no surprise that Sarah-Jane and Stevie’s wedding was going to be all kinds of dramatic! Married in October 2019 at the grand Battle Abbey in Hastings, Sussex, Sarah-Jane wore not one but two gowns (in fact, she’d actually planned to don a third but ran out of time!) and entertained guests with magicians and Hollywood acceptance-worthy speeches; the best-man and groom being trained actors helped here!Read more...

Josefin and Dirk described their wedding theme as 'Princess-on a Horse Fairytale, Bohemian Rock n Roll Late Summer Flower Dream Paradise Wedding' (!) “We love the sun, bohemian style and colourful flowers" began Dirk. “We wanted a mix of this with a focus on music, horses, and the outdoors."Read more...

Not all bridal shoots need a white dress and lots of props. Sometimes, all you need is a horse (ha!) and a woodland.Read more...

Sally and Jacques were legally married in September 2014, however they wanted to have a casual beach wedding so had a non-legal blessing with their family and friends there in January of this year. "We did not want to have a long boring ceremony", said the bride. "We've both been so so many weddings with long boring sermons and we didn't want that for our own."Read more...

Ross and Gem were married at the Medieval Banquet Hall at the Park Hall Hotel, which set the theme for the day. "Our inspiration came from our love of ‘old’ England", began the bride. "We adore its majesty and history. We weren't particularly taken by the ‘average’ wedding with pastel colours, white linen, paper straws and sugared almonds, ans we wanted something people would remember. I also wanted to do loads of DIY in the run up. We spent a lot of time making sure that everyone would be entertained throughout. Not many weddings have fire eaters and King Arthur as the toastmaster!Read more...

With a bride who's obsessed enough with horses to get three of them tattooed as a chest piece, photographer Catalina Jean knew what the starting point for her next styled bridal shoot had to be. "Ginny and Jack are having an indoor wedding this next winter so I brought up the idea of doing a bridal session at a fun outdoor location on a day with nice weather", she explained.Read more...

Horses and weddings. Not an obvious combination of inspiration for a shoot (unless you're thinking horse-drawn carriage) but needless to say it works really well. The Autumnal colours, the soft tones and the moody setting make this shoot beautiful and really different. "Everything took place at the old Ippodrome of San Marone located in Civitanova Marche, Italy", wrote wedding photographer Paolo Manzi. "It's an amazing racecourse in the middle of the countryside. There are only a few race every year, but it's still a lovely place and was perfect for what we had in mind for the shoot."Read more...

If someone was to ask me to list my favourite things tattooed brides, bright rainbow colours and cute, furry animals would all fare pretty high on my list. So needless to say I didn't hesitate when I was sent this bridal shoot by wedding photographer Martin Hobby!Read more...

Well what else could I be loving this Sunday but Easter!? I don't like chocolate at all (I know, I'm a freak) but I do love spending the day with my loved ones and taking some much needed time off work. I couldn't leave you without some Easter inspo pretty though could I!? Today I wanted to share something a little different, Melanie & Michael's sweet Easter inspired shoot that was sent over by wedding photographers Jenn & Derrek of Jennifer Sullivan Photography. If this doesn't get you in the Easter egg munching, baby bunny petting spirit I don't know what will. I hope you all have a fabulous day whatever you're up to.Read more...

Being animal lovers, and with the bride's Mother running an animal rescue sanctuary (where the couple actually met!) an eco and aminal friendly wedding was perfect for Danny & Sandy. The bride explained, "We wanted everything to be eco-friendly and cozy! We stuck to bamboo plates and wooden utensils, and decorated with hay bales with burlap on top for seats, a bonfire, and mason jars with teelight candles hung in trees and lights draped throughout my backyard."Read more...

This beautiful shoot with an eco hippy vibe tugs at my heart strings. Isn't it just beautiful!? I die over the summery details - the coloured glass, the cute props (owls for the win!), the yummy confectionery and the stunning florals. Photographer Nikita Gross used digital, Holga and Polaroid photography to capture the whimsical and retro vibe of these shoot...and I'd say she's done that perfectly! "We used tons of yellows and greens to keep with the natural vibe," she explains. "All of the decor was found at local thrift stores. Earlier this year myself and Jen Pritchard of Your Wedding by Jen created Cincinnati's first Alternative wedding Expo, Love+Bash. This is one of the table concepts from the show."Read more...

Tory & Joel's two-day wedding makes my heart sing. These two totally different days worked so brilliantly for the couple. Both had a vintage and Rock n Roll vibe and I'm utterly thrilled to share them both with you today. The couple were married at Marylebone Town Hall, London in an intimate ceremony on Friday 27th May. Tory wore a vintage dress by Armstrong Vintage and Joel wore a suit from Next . The couple chose not to have their reception directly after as they were dreaming of eloping, and having the ceremony separate to the reception party gave them this feeling without upsetting their family and friends! "Part of us wanted to run away together and have a romantic eloping story to re-tell but in reality we both wanted our parents and siblings there at the ceremony," the bride told me. "It turned out to be exactly what we wanted: incredibly romantic, very intimate and with our nearest and dearest there to squeeze our hands when things got a bit emotional." The reception was held on the 29th at West End Farm, Bedfordshire and certainly had the Rock n Roll vibe. The bride wore a second vintage dress from Love Miss Daisy and the event was a detail-perfect party for all their friends and family.Read more...

"Always in search of new ideas and cool, unique locations with a story, I was thrilled to explore one of the very last working farms in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada for my inspiration shoot," writes photographer Anne-Marie Bouchard. "I wanted character and grit for a session that would showcase something a bit different with an edge to inspire the modern Rock n Roll Bride. The work horses were a perfect fit to the true natural, rustic feel and a tattooed bride in a soft flowing Vera Wang gown with wild dark flowers just felt so right, opposites do attract after all!"Read more...

I sneak peeked this shoot back in February but I had to wait until now to share the full thing...sorry to keep you all waiting, it was hard for me too! I was asked by Lisa & Tania, the vintage jewellery aficionados behind Magpie Vintage if I'd like to model for their latest campaign - the launch of their brand new clothing line. Needless to say I didn't need much convincing, even when they told me I had to get on a horse!Read more...

I am mightily excited to share a few sneak peeks from this week's photo shoot. I was asked by the lovely Lisa & Tania of Magpie Vintage if I'd like to come and be their 'celebrity' (ha!) model for their latest (and in my opinion greatest!) promotional photo shoot. The pair are expanding their business from vintage jewellery to fashion! The Rose Collection launches in September 2011 and each piece is a lovingly created one off - reworked from genuine vintage articles - just like their jewellery that they've become so well known for. If you're interested in purchasing any of these stunning pieces then be sure to get in touch with them!Read more...

If there's one thing that makes a wedding blogger's heart go a-flutter, it's lots of lovely details - gorgeous ideas that you, dear reader, can sneakily steal for your own weddings. So, when I was sent this utterly gorgeous rustic/Rock n Roll (who says the two can't merge!?) it took me all of about 30 seconds to say yes to featuring it. Moustache cookies (and shoes!), cute typography, mis-matched bunting, multi coloured florals a-plenty and a cake covered in different coloured bow ties (seriously dying over here.) Oh yes, this blogger certainly approves!Read more...

Jenny Packham and 1920's styling was the order of the day for Emma & Adam's wedding at Chewton House just outside Bristol. In fact Emma's Jenny Packham 'Joy' dress provided the inspiration for the whole wedding! The wedding theme came about by chance as when Emma visited Wedding Days in Cheltenham bridal shop to look for a potential wedding dress. She hadn't had much luck in her search up til then but luckily for her, a promotions representative from Jenny Packham happened to be visiting the store that day and had a few "one off" dresses for Wedding Days to show case for one day only. The last dress she tried on was "Joy". It was exactly what she had been looking for. The bride then came up with the idea to theme the whole wedding about the 1920's/30's style of the dress.Read more...
