When it came to shooting Rachael (from Maui) and Tim's (from Florida) engagement shoot, where else could be as perfect as on the beach? "These guys are all about the beach and rock the surf style," said photographer Wendy Laurel. "I mean who else wears their bikini on their engagement shoot? This awesome punk inspired wedding was actually a faux-wedding - a photo shoot set up by stylist & blogger Lauren of Every Last Detail and photographer's Jeff & Anna Katherine of K&K Photography. They wanted to showcase some awesome alternative wedding styling and they certainly achieved that. Steve & Kelly's November wedding took place in Florida at Omni Orlando Resort. The theme for the day was butterflies, in memorial of Kelly's Papa who had passed away 5 years earlier. As well as wearing the bride wearing a butterfly bracelet and flowers in her hair, the couple released butterflies in his memory. At the reception the couple filled the room with details that meant a lot to them - fish in the centrepieces for good luck and tattoo details becuase they are both heavilty tattooed. Amanda & Marcel's Florida engagement session was a gift from their friend Mireya at Axiom Photo Studio. "From the moment Marcel and I got engaged, Mireya called us up and said...'I have a vision' " Amanda told me. "She told us where and when to meet and she would take care of the rest. I decided to hit up a few Goodwill stores the night before and ended up getting my entire wardrobe for under $20. She knew she wanted to capture "us" and "Miami" and she really did. She took us to some kick-ass graffiti walls in Wynwood and then we traveled back to Little Havana for some cafecito. The whole shoot took about four hours and we all had a blast (including our 2 chihuahuas)."Read more...

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin's 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia's vision for the session. Rebecca's polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo. This make me happy. The photos are of course stunning, with their neo-realism kinda feel - the stark white backdrop and her pale skin vs the dark gothic lipstick is just beautiful. This is yet another shoot I have been dying to share for ages. Rock n Roll Bride fave, Trigger Happy Tara showed me a sneak peak of these a few weeks ago and me being as impatient as ever I have literally been chomping at the bit to get these up for you all! This shoot was actually part of a mass shoot-out, an event where a bunch of local photographers (in this case Jacksonville) get together to shoot some models and exchange tips and tricks. I love this model and Tara's interpretation of the scene so much because she has given what could have been such a traditional shoot a completely offbeat and rock n roll twist!
