Nakean and Amanda, who both have a children from previous relationships, met online and bonded immediately due to their mutual love of outdoor adventuring. Many of their early dates were doing something adventurous - from hiking to snowshoeing - so, when the decided to marry in August, having an outdoor adventure elopement was the prefect choice. She even surprised them by putting pictures of some of their favourite people on the bouquets - those that had either passed away and were unable to attend their special day. They were always going to elope and luckily, even though a lockdown was imminent, Jodi and Terry were still able to go ahead with their intimate March wedding. They'd booked into have their quicky ceremony at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago (which was free!) and a friend, who got ordained especially for the event, hosted the proceedings. They had no guests at the ceremony, which was always their plan. They really didn't want a big wedding or any fuss. The idea was for it to just feel like a fancy day out.

However the most important thing to them both having their ceremony in their own way. "Our ceremony was simple and we did not want to have any guests", Jen began. Micaela and John knew they wanted to tie their wedding in with a three week trip of the US, but beyond that, they were easy! “We originally thought we’d rock up to a Vegas chapel,” explained Micaela, “but I was not like most brides and planned everything last minute. A week before the wedding I was going to book the chapel and found out that the ones we were interested in charge extra for bringing your own photographer, which we had not budgeted for, and they charge a lot for a 10-minute ceremony anyway! After chatting with our photographer, he suggested we travel out to Salvation Mountain - he’d remembered me mentioning our interest in it and we decided why not!”
