Spontaneous San Francisco Elopement Inspired by the Number 13

The inspiration for Meg and Chad’s San Francisco elopement is unlucky for some - the number 13! “It’s both our favourite numbers,” said Meg, “and we originally had a wedding planned for January 13th, 2019 and were going to San Francisco for the holidays. We were planning our trip out for sight-seeing and things to do, and we look at each other and half joked about how cool it would be to get married in San Francisco! We had said though that we would only do it if we could still have 13 in our anniversary. I logged into the City Hall website, and the only date available for when we were in San Fran was October 30th - 10/30 = 13!”

It's that perfect time of year where the temperatures have dropped slightly but it's not yet baltic outside, the colours of the trees are at their most beautiful and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are a thing again (OK spoiler alert I actually think they're gross but many people don't agree with me!) But MOST OF ALL, I love the weddings that happen in Autumn. Especially when they're low key and full of all the feels.

Relaxed & Spontaneous New York Elopement

Alys and Jason flew to New York for from the UK for their February wedding and were married at New York City Hall the day before Jason's 30th birthday (he joked he got a wife for his birthday!) After the low key ceremony with just them and their photographer, they hopped in a cab to take photos around Brooklyn, grabbed some pizza and finished their day off with an amazing dinner at Bar Primi, an Italian Restaurant in the East Village.

They met a decade ago while Lacey was bartending on a slow night. She was reading The Encyclopaedia of Serial Killers and Austen struck up a conversation about it while ordering a beer. When returned to his friends, she noticed he’s left his number on a napkin and although this has happened to her before, he was the first one she ever wanted to follow up with! They became friends first, bonding of their mutual love of horror and anything spooky. They’d get together regularly to watch scary movies, but only as friends. Then, a few years later, on a road trip to Vegas it became more than that… And the rest, as the old cliché goes, is history.
