Matt and Julia had planned to get married In Hawaii this coming July, with their reception to follow in their hometown in August. But with the current uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, they weren’t sure if their dream wedding would still happen the way they planned. Voicing concerns to Julia’s co-worker, who happens to be a licensed officiant, she offered to marry the couple at the tattoo shop Julia works at before their state went into lockdown. “I think one of my friends summed it up best by saying ‘you got married at a tattoo shop, by a tattoo artist, in the middle of a pandemic; that’s the most punk-rock thing I’ve ever heard!’” said Julia.

There's a hybrid wedding trend we're seeing a lot these days - not quite an elopement, but definitely not a big wedding either. Jay and Brian knew this was what they wanted for their nuptials. They didn't want to entirely run away and do it on their own, but they didn't want to host a ton of people and drop a huge amount of money on it either. So, they found a comfortable mid-way point and married at Hackney Town Hall, followed by a meal at a local restaurant with just 14 guests (and their sausage dog, Duncan!)

Imagine what your wedding could be like if you had no-one else but yourselves to please. If you could wear what you wanted, invite who you wanted and spend the day exactly as you liked, no questions asked. This doesn't have to be a fantasy and although these images are from a photo shoot rather than a real ceremony, I think they're going to inspire you to look to yourselves for your wedding concept and ideas, rather than getting lost in a world of Pinterest boards and Facebook groups!

Kate and Jordon were married in an intimate ceremony at Mt Thompson Crematorium, where the bride works, in Holland Park, Brisbane. As we kick of 2020, I'm not sure I can think of a more perfect feature than this roaring 1920s themed vow renewal! And OMG is she a beauty! We feature quite a few vow renewals, but not often those of LGBTQ couples, so I was super excited to hear all about Kaitlin and Stephanie's love story. The day began life as a styled shoot, but they decided to renew their vows for real. They were married in Paris originally so wanted nods to this throughout too.
