There are some weddings I see that are just so adorably gorgeous that I squeal a little bit with delight when I'm allowed to share them with you...and this baby needs to be shared! I just know you're going to adore it as much as I do. Allie & Bo's wedding had a distinctive 1970's hippy vibe - an era that they live and love in their everyday lives. The bohemian, DIY details make this day simply perfect for them. As bride Allie explains, "I like to consider myself a modern day hippie with a bohemian bent. I wanted something sort of whimsical and vintage for my wedding. I grew up with stories from my grandmother of the passions of the hippie movement of the late 60’s and early 70’s. She encouraged me to be original and taught me an appreciation of nature and an independent sense of style. Bo and I love to hike and camp and we eat locally grown food, so it was important for us to plan an environmentally friendly wedding."Read more...

Carly & John's wedding had a laid back and simple vibe. It was important to them to keep their day genuine, and all their planning and thematic ideas really came about organically. The ceremony took place in Edogawa Japanese Gardens, East Gosford, Australia. "We didn't really have a theme, everything kinda just happened organically with us making decisions about venues, outfits and decorations as they came up," Carly explained. "In the end it was a blend of colour, asian themes with a Rock n Roll twist. The wedding fully represented us as a couple. The ceremony was completely hand crafted for us by our celebrant Sarah Tolmie (love and life inspirations). Instead of the traditional ceremony Sarah started the ceremony with acknowledging aboriginals as the the traditional custodians of the land where we were married, followed by her sharing our story of how we met and how our love grew. She then read out why both of us love the other to our guests, and then instead of vows we used askings that would be the foundations of marriage and how we would strive to behave through out it."Read more...

Established in 2004 by graphic designers Jennifer Tatham and Alan Henderson, Night Owl Paper Goods is a company dedicated to creating handmade letterpress cards and eco-chic wooden goodies in a style they like to call 'modern yet folksy.' "We are very fortunate to have created a company and product line that combines everything we love," they told me. "Design + printing + writing + paper + wood + nature + the environment + friends + family. What a hoot!"Read more...

The thing I love about all you Rock n Roll Bride's is the diversity of all your weddings. Every morning my inbox is flooded with so many different wedding visions that it my days are never dull! Farley & Niko's wedding was planned in only 8 weeks. They explained, "We decided to go for it when Farley's Dad was diagnosed with pancreas and liver cancer. We therefore hadn't saved for it and had to cut corners where ever we could. We did have some very generous donations form family members which made it possible. I think we did it all within £4000 (that's 120 guests all fed)."Read more...

When a wedding as gorgeous as this one hits blog-land, you just know the wedding blogs are going to be fighting over who gets to feature it. I'm not one to boast, but I'm pretty chuffed that photographer Galaxie Andrews chose Rock n Roll Bride to showcase this amazingly stunning wedding. The bride is Monique, the uber talented designer and owner of Rock n Roll Bride favourite, Ouma Clothing, and her marriage to John really is a match made in Rock n Roll heaven. The details of this wedding are killing me...and don't even get me started on her dress. Epic isn't even the word!Read more...

James & Kassie got married at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek, Texas in an "earthy-vintage" themed wedding. The couple chose their venue because they felt it completely reflected the vibe they wanted for their day. "The outside ceremony site, decks for guests to hang out, trees everywhere…..it was just perfect," began the bride. " The venue allowed for simple accents and decorations, which was just what I wanted. The colors were bright and happy, however allowed for that earthy theme to mix right in. Down our aisle I had 1 ½ - 2ft tree trunks set along each side, with simple vintage bottles and daisy’s just to add the earthy-vintage flare. Our archway was designed with lilies and shells, with vines and curly willow, which added that perfect backdrop for our quick ceremony."Read more...

Rissy & Mike's wedding was a real hippy and family affair. They involved everyone that was important to them in order to make it totally perfect. First off, Rissy carried their son, Casey down the aisle with her. "I was wearing Casey in a sakura bloom sling," Rissy explained. "Wearing him down the aisle and during the ceremony was very important to us because we wanted him to be with us as we all became an even closer family. We also practice attachment parenting which puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of baby wearing." With having a young baby, it was hard for the couple to go out and buy everything they could for the wedding, therefore about 99% of their wedding supplies were bought online. "Clothes and decorations pretty much everything else as far as decorations I bought at Anthropologie and World Market," Rissy continued. "I didn't want to hire a wedding planner as we didn't want to pay for one and I really wanted the event to be "us". I felt like I could do it best. The few things that were really important for us to have was an outside wedding on the water or in the woods and a dress that buttoned down the front so I could breast feed in my dress."Read more...

Oh yes! I am so excited by Kamela & Brian's vintage/eco/organic/outdoor wedding. If you're a regular reader of Rock n Roll Bride I'm sure you'll already be aware of the amazing Emma Case (she shot the image that I'm currently using as my blog header/my 'Punk Rock n Roll Bride' shoot) and Lucy Ledger Designs. Lucy makes gorgeously creative vintage-inspired stationary (I've also been lucky enough to feature her before as well as meet her in actual real life!) After Lucy saw Emma's work on Rock n Roll Bride she got in touch asking if they could get together to do a promotional shoot for her vintage stationary company. Hello!? Match made in vintage Rock n Roll heaven or what!?Read more...

James & Holly had a beautiful countryside wedding at the couple's home, Newhouse Farm in Cornwall which they share with James' family . The couple, who star in the TV series, It's Not Easy Being Green, wanted a homespun, eco style wedding that truly reflected them as a couple and a family. In keeping with their 'green' theme the couple arrived at the church on shire horses, which when they're not glammed up for weddings are actually used to plough fields. "Our aim was to have as 'green' a wedding as possible. We wanted to have our reception at the place that had brought us together, Newhouse Farm" they told me. "Certain steps towards a green wedding were fairly straight-forward: we wanted to use only local, seasonal produce as well as British grown, seasonal flowers. Our venue, Newhouse Farm, is powered completely by solar power, a couple of wind turbines and a waterwheel, as well as using only water from our own natural spring. We even had a compost loo and a compost urinal for our guests to use! Green transport was also easy to achieve, after all what could be more romantic than using a pair of beautiful Shire horses to transport us to the reception. (Actually this was a bit of an extravagance as the church was only 100 metres from the venue... our guests simply walked!!)"Read more...

I love Bryan & Claira's adorable rustic, homespun wedding. It was held at Hill Country Village, which is right out in the middle of the country that surrounds Shreveport, LA. "It has an old grocery store, a couple old farm houses and this big brick venue where we held our reception. The wedding itself was outside amongst all of these fun old buildings" Claira told me.Read more...

There ain't no one that 'did it their own way' as much as Ted & Tamara. "Our budget 'tree of life' themed day was filled with love" they began their email to me last week. "With a limited budget, I set out to make our special for us with simple tree stumps found along the Mississippi River. Our bridal party wore simple summer-loving attire that are so 're-usable'. My J Crew dream dress was found on ebay for $80. Orchids sang, yellow petals danced, willow branches waved all around us. Pure bliss." The couple only spend $2000 on their perfect wedding day. "When I started dreaming up my wedding," Tamara continued "we were going to be starting a new life together. I always think of trees as representing life and when Ted found the perfect pieces of driftwood from the Mississippi River for us to use we knew that was what sort of wedding we wanted. We wanted a ceremony to be sweet, meaningful with a fun casual atmosphere."Read more...

Sue & Shonagh actually got married in May 2008, however following the sad passing of Sue's Mum Hilary to Cancer just recently, with the full co-operation of the couple, both myself and photographer Caroline thought it would be a fitting tribute to share their whimsical and wonderful wedding with you today. Sue (in the tartan dress) and Shonagh (in the blue dress) were neighbours of Caroline and as soon as she heard the couple we getting married she jumped at the chance to photograph it. Another friend, who also lived in the same building, Vonny Mullock, made both the brides' dresses. Sue got ready in their flat and Shonagh got married in Vonny's flat. The couple met on the landing between when they were both ready and headed out together to get married.Read more...

I have to be honest, I've been gagging to share Aubrey & Marshall's wedding ever since photographer's Stacie & Geoffrey (you may remember them from their own - way too damn cool wedding) sent me a sneak peek...not only because of how rad this wedding actually is, but because I have secretly been harboring a photographic crush on Lang Photographers (I'm probably their biggest Twitter stalker!) Aubrey & Marshall diy-ed their whole wedding with very little budget - they just let their creativity run wild! Everything from the origami to the curtain, from the invitation to the pinwheels was constructed and created by the pair and I am dying over here! Oh tell me your love it as much as I do...Read more...
