February 5, 2014

Carla and Chris wanted their wedding to be a reflection of them but also to be laid back and enjoyable for their guests. They weren't bothered about following tradition and mainly wanted to make sure that they threw one hell of party! "We hate the big white wedding and the whole cut-and-paste experience so we wanted to do something different", began Carla. "No white wedding dress, no cutting of the cake, absolutely no bunting. Just us, relaxed and simple. I guess we set the scene when we sent out wedding invitations with a picture of two skeleton hands with their wedding rings on (till death do us part!)"

Well this is something I didn't ever think I'd post - a shark themed wedding! I love nothing more than being surprised by the weddings that land in my inbox and Kelly and Jack's was certainly one that did that. The celebration was held at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. "Our wedding theme was sharks with an explosion of everything we love!" began the bride. "We had bold bright colors with accents from things like mermaids, tattoo imagery, and of course, more sharks!"

Ben and Irene were married at Pietersburg High School, in Polokwane, South Africa. The ceremony was held on the front lawn and the reception in the gym. "Our wedding was described to me by one of my friends as one of the most 'sharing' he has ever seen. Meaning that the theme was us, as well as our friends and family", began the groom. "Everything there was something we loved, or something that meant something to ourselves or our guests, and in most cases both."

My Beautiful Bride

January 10, 2014

When wedding photographer Michael of My Beautiful Bride told me that Craig and Melanie were one of his most adventurous couples yet, I took it with a pinch of salt. But then I saw their wedding day portraits where they got into a bath of water - fully clothed - with their dog! Not that's something you don't see everyday. If, like Melanie, you're not bothered about keeping your wedding dress pristine, you totally need to do something like this. How fun!

January 6, 2014

Abbie and Chris were married at The Stables in Brinkburn Briory, a unique venue that really helped to set the tone of their day. "I think the venue for us was probably one of the most unique parts of our wedding", Abbie told me. "There hadn't been many weddings before ours there and the derelict building next to the priory has featured on the TV show 'Most Haunted'. It was a beautiful place for pictures."

January 5, 2014

Becca and Chris were married at Larmer Tree Gardens on the Dorset/ Wiltshire border. They wanted their day to be small and stress-free so they only had nine guests. "We didn't have a theme for our wedding, we just picked things we loved, without thinking too carefully about whether they would match," began the bride. "That's why I wore an art deco dress, the car was from the 1950s and our entertainment was a Mariachi band mash-up! The main thing was that we wanted our love of travel to come across, so we had a lot of map bunting, colour, and a global influence to our food and music."

High School Prom Wedding: Elizabeth & Juan

Kat

2 and 3

January 3, 2014

Elizabeth and Juan wanted their December wedding to be just like a High School Prom. "Our wedding theme helped everyone get in to the Prom spirit, attendees dressed in prom attire, and we went absolutely crazy with balloons", began the bride. "Our wedding party was such a mixed, motley crowd. We wanted everyone to have fun and use their own style for their outfits. We wanted to run screaming from the traditional thing and my's dream came true with my perfect pink dress. Our officiant even wore a purple prom dress!"
