Chris and Jen wanted a bohemian, outdoor wedding inspired by their love of festivals and each other. "We're lucky to be able to have a pretty bohemian lifestyle", the bride said. "We like to travel and we like to let our hair down at festivals. Many of our friends come from theses and other creative pools. Chris has African roots and we both wanted to acknowledge this in the symbolism and ceremony of our day. So I guess our theme was... us?"

Lulu and Alex's June wedding was held at The Historic Overlook House in Portland. Their wedding theme was based on a sentence that they came up with on early in the planning process. "Science, Stars, and everything we love", Lula said, "and we only picked things we really loved. We obviously had our favourite colours but also dinosaurs riding pine cones, temporary star tattoos (our son loves temporary tattoos), food from our favourite restaurant, Erlenmeyer flasks, wood tables and chairs, paper crafts, mercury glass, and all the weird beautiful flowers and eucalyptus I could have asked for."

Relaxed Barn Wedding

Flo and Matt wanted a relaxed wedding that bucked tradition and felt like them. "We started out fighting against traditional wedding themes, looking for something that represented us", began the bride. "The venue was the way-in to planning for us. We were keen to find a venue with accommodation but a relaxed feel in Herefordshire. We viewed many venues including yurts, country houses and a priory but knew on the approach to Lyde Court that it was the place for us."

Colourful Caribbean Cruise Inspired Wedding

Assassynation

Aimee and Lenny met when they were both working in Cruise Liners in the Caribbean in the early 2000s. "It was far from love at first sight", laughed the bride. "I used to think Lenny was a bit of an idiot! After we both left the ships we stayed (loose) friends on Facebook and in 2009 started a conversation on a photo that went like this: Aimee, 'You look fit Lenny! You're aging well!' Lenny, 'Why Thank you! No-one has ever told me I look fit before! Will you Marry me?' From there we started messaging one another about our 'fake' wedding. It eventually progressed to normal conversation, then daily chat which went on for a couple of months. It soon became apparent that, bizarrely, we were falling in love over our written messages (which we cutely called 'Love Mail' because Lenny's surname is Love!) So, eight years after we'd worked together, I arranged to meet up with this guy (who I used to hate) and who's emails were giving me butterflies. It was supposed to be for one night but I ended up staying for a week. And that was that!"

Nat and Drew's Brixton wedding was pretty, sparkly, but most of all a celebration for them and their friends and family. "Our inspiration was us", the bride said. "We planned the kind of party we wanted to go to. We chose London because it’s where we have made our home together, but we wanted to put our hearts into it and it just sort of evolved that way. The day was for us, and if we were happy then everyone else would be too."

Love and Lavender

Lauren and Mike spent just £2500 on their gorgeous wedding. They were inspired by two things - the movies and lavender. "We had lots of references to the movies", the bride said. "We are both massive film geeks and we couldn't not have that represented on our big day. We had little hints scattered all over the place, including our Star Wars photo booth, movie quotes and movie poster illustrations around the venue, marvel confetti cones, and Mendl's boxes for wedding favours from The Grand Budapest Hotel."
