Nicky and David were married in East London. They had a relatively small budget of £5000 but they were able to make it stretch by avoiding wedding specific items wherever possible. They hosted their reception in a town hall, the bride wore a dress from Monsoon, they had a homemade cake and put all the flowers together themselves. They even skipped the wedding car, choosing to get the train between their ceremony and reception venues.

Silje and Alex were married in Norway in July. Their wedding was DIY heavy and inspired by nature. "We focused on aesthetics and ideas that fit our personalities", said the bride. "We both love nature, and the foresty theme took hold after we decided to have the ceremony in the woods. Our colours were turquoise and gold, which is simply just one of my favourite colour combinations."

Annie and Paul met when the bride first visited the UK. She was in Sheffield with a friend and they met at the pub that he was working in. When they came to get married, they wanted to have two celebrations in their respective countries. This first one took place on a beach in Sydney in March (their UK wedding will be in a future issue of Rock n Roll Bride magazine so watch this space!)

"When we started to think about the type of wedding we wanted we agreed we wanted a relaxed day, nothing to stiff or formal", said the bride. "The most important thing to us was being surrounded by our loved ones enjoying themselves. We didn’t want to become obsessed with details that wouldn’t be the lasting memories for our guests."
