Samantha and Mike were married in August and they had a few different priorities. They wanted to ensure that they didn't overspend (they rigidly stuck to their £11,000 budget), and they wanted the day to feel like them. They were hitched at Southwick D-Day Memorial Hall, which isn't a licensed wedding venue (so they did the legal bit a few days before) meaning they had a lot of freedom to do what they wanted on the day itself and it only cost them £750 to hire it for the whole weekend!Read more...

Jamie and Michael had two very different wedding celebrations - a small family-focused event in the scorching heat in Malaga and a second a few weeks later, for all the rest of their friends and family back home in Belfast... in the rain! The two events couldn't be more different (the bride even changed her hair colour between the two!) but both felt completely right for them. Inspired by punk rock, Day of the Dead and Culture Clash, Amy and Niall planned their August wedding on a £5000 budget. They included nods to their Scottish and Italian/Indian heritages as well as elements that defined them as a couple such as serving a fully vegetarian menu. Catherine met Thomas at an alternative music festival called DV8 in York. Like something out of a fairy tale, Thomas, who's band were playing, spotted Catherine across a crowded room while he was playing from the stage. After his set he went over to talk to her. Although they didn't see each other again for 12 months, they reconnected exactly a year later at the same festival and started their relationship.Read more...

If you're dreaming of pumpkin spice and snuggly knits then you are going to adore Kristen and Lloyd's wedding. Almost all of their reception decor was thrifted, bought online and/ or put together by the couple themselves. They hand-painted a globe to use as their guest book (LOVE THIS!) and made magnolia leaf place cards as well as gold spray-painted dinosaur toys for some added fun and a nod to the groom's love of Jurassic Park!Read more...

Melanie and Adam's October wedding was a super cute take on a Halloween theme, keeping everything super light, bright and airy at Oldwalls in Gower, Swansea. As an ex practical-SFX artist and with it being Melanie's favourite holiday, the couple wanted to evoke the imagery and colours, but most importantly the fun of it for all of their friends and family to enjoy. Music is a massive thing for Carrie and Dee, who met at a house party after they'd finished working at Belfast Music Week in 2011, plus Carrie photographs bands for Getty Images (as well as weddings!) so it was a major theme for their New Year's Eve celebration. Millie and Mitchell said their biggest aim for their wedding was to capture fun and personify it into a colourful, laid back, alternative day. They actually had two wedding days. The first was the legally recognised one at Portsmouth Register Office with 14 guests made up of their families and one close friend. They followed it with a breakfast of champions in Chambers restaurant then on to the arcades at Southsea Seafront in the rain. Then, three days later, they had a big forest festival style party with a second ceremony in a woodland shelter at the Sustainability Centre in Petersfield. Natasha and Paul had a relaxed summer church wedding, followed by their colourful reception in a beautiful rustic barn. DIY played a huge part, and between themselves and their family they handled the invitations, cake, flowers, decorations, wedding favours, hair and make-up, setting up the venue, and cleaning it the next day.
