Emily and Jan's boat-access, micro wedding was pure magic. Jan wore a vintage suit while Emily was in a hand-dyed, hand-made red wedding gown. Only their closet family and shaggy dog made the Covid-cut guest list for the day which took place on Slocan Lake in British Columbia. They were wed under a lovingly homemade driftwood arch on a private cliff, which could only be accessed by boat. After the ceremony they ate charcuterie and cliff jumped - perfection!Read more...

It was really important to Sarah and Parker that on their May wedding, they felt the most ‘them’ that they had ever felt. “We wanted the day to be beautiful while also being comfortable,” the bride began. “For us it meant - elegant, but simple. Easy. It was more about incorporating all the pieces that were significant than having an official theme, but if I had to put it into a few words - personal, local, and real.”Read more...

Lexi and Tom chose Islington Town Hall and Green Rooms, a local bar/ hotel, as the locations for their November 2021 wedding. It was important to them both that the day was as stress-free and fun as possible so they decided to ignore the traditional timeline and do an evening-only wedding with their ceremony at 5pm. They got ready together at home with their mates, wore coordinating pink outfits and matching Adidas sneakers, walked down the aisle to KC & Jojo and had a reading from Fleabag.Read more...

Baglio di Pianetto, a winery in Sicily, was the setting for Jenn & Mike's intimate wedding last year. Pre-pandemic, they still opted for a small wedding, inviting just 20 guests. The wedding took place on a Tuesday evening and after a short, symbolic ceremony, they hosted a simple Sicilian meal for their loved ones. They kept things as fuss-free as possible - there was no band, no big décor elements and no forced itinerary for the day.Read more...

Trinity Buoy Wharf has one of the best views in London which suited Rebecca and Dave's red, white and blue themed wedding to a tee. The couple didn't want the day to be too 'matchy-matchy', but they did was cohesive elements to run throughout. The bride wore a stunning red Pronovias dress (from their evening gown range, so less than a quarter of the price of their wedding gowns!), the bridesmaid wore white and Dave and his groomsmen were in blue suits.Read more...

If you're planning a smaller post-pandemic wedding then you're going to love reading all about Jodie and Joe's intimate day. They eloped with just a couple of their friends there, and then later planned an 'engagement party' where they could tell everyone they'd actually already got married!Read more...

When it come to planning their May wedding, Adeline didn’t start out with the mindset that she wanted it to be unique of alternative; she just wanted a day that represented herself and her partner, Nelius, and what they love. They didn’t want traditions forced on them just because that’s what people do at weddings, so they nixed traditions like cake cutting and bouquet tossing, and kept some things they loved. “I just wanted to look pretty, marry my man and have loads of fun with the people I love the most!” explained Adeline. “Nelius wanted good food and drink, and that’s what the man got.”Read more...

Kacii and Jay Jay married at Mansfield Traquair, Edinburgh. Known locally as 'Edinburgh’s answer to the Sistine Chapel', the exquisite, neo-Romanesque former church was an opulent setting for their March celebration. The couple made it their own, wanting a more casual, fun affair than is usually held there, so they eschewed the traditional expectations and did things the way they wanted!Read more...

In doing their initial research, Sarah and Brian quickly started to realise that for the price of a traditional package wedding at a hotel or resort, they could instead piece it together using the people, places and things they already loved. “Using our everyday favourite things as inspiration for our day made decisions easier and the wedding itself feel authentic and real.” said Sarah.Read more...

Vicky and Peter’s big day was inspired by their joint love of parties, festivals and raves - and combined with Vicky’s love of circuses, Alice in Wonderland and randomness, it made for a unique and fun-filled day! “Our main impetus was that everyone have a good time, instead of just watching us have a good time like you see at lots of wedding. We wanted to throw a crazy party that everyone could enjoy!” said Vicky.Read more...

Chris and Ashley knew they wanted a quirky venue for their wedding but weren’t willing to compromise on food, and the National Railway Museum in York ticked all those boxes. Featuring a fine dining menu, a vintage train carriage and a twinkly light backdrop, it was perfect for what they wanted! In fact with such good decorations already in place at the museum, the couple felt it needed very little in the way of further decor - they had just centrepieces, light up letters and cherry blossom trees to dress the reception area.Read more...

With their careers in hospitality and production for the entertainment industry, Gemma and Howard know a thing or two about organising events. “Though to be honest it’s best not to think about it too much and just get on with it,” said Gemma, “otherwise you’ll end up curbing all your ideas and never realising your plans!”Read more...
