Attention Whovians! You are going to LOVE what I have to share with you today. We've all seen Doctor Who themed weddings before, but I'm going to put my stake in the ground and say I think this is the best one ever. Not only did Leila and Scott only spend $5000 on their wedding, the attention to detail is totally amazing. Check out that blue wedding cake!Read more...

As a wedding blogger, being submitted a wedding described as a "dino glitter explosion" is a red letter day. Rob and Lucy's Derby wedding might have just leapt up to being one of my all time favourites ever! They were legally married in a registry office but had an emotional and beautiful blessing at their reception at Shardlow Village Hall.Read more...

The incredible wedding of Robin and Jeannine took place at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens in August. "As a queer couple (gay, female identified Jeannine and gender/queer, trans identified Robin) we found it important to craft our wedding and the many details on our own so that it didn't fall into a too traditional event that we ourselves didn't fit into", they told me. "We used and encouraged gender-neutral language, used as many recycled materials as possible, and put our hearts and energy into all the aspects of what turned out to be an incredible day. Jeannine literally took the summer off from teaching for the first time ever and approached wedding planning in the same manner that she might develop curricula for her students. We also asked for support and inspiration in myriad areas of planning and production from our community of talented friends and loved ones."Read more...

There must be something in the water because I've now featured three brides with blue hair in the past week. Well, it is the best hair colour after all! The reason I fell in love with this wedding has nothing to do with Kaylee's tresses though, and everything to do with the fact that they had the most kick ass day, on a minuscule budget. I love sharing weddings like this because they prove that it is completely possible to have an awesome wedding without spending a fortune. You just have to prioritise what you really want (in Kaylee and Jake's case their only big expense was the photography) and be smart about where you get everything else. The bride found her wedding dress in a vintage store for £20 for example!!Read more...

I'm totally biased of course, but blue hair is sooo the best hair colour ever. Since I've gone over to the blue side I can't imagine ever wanting a different colour, it just makes me so happy! So, obviously, Samantha's gorgeous cerulean tresses instantly caught my eye. But then I saw the rest of the wedding and I knew you'd love it too! Any Game of Thrones fans out there?Read more...

Lacey and Josh didn't want to have a stressful time planning their wedding. Initially they wanted to elope, but instead decided to have a wedding that was relaxed and intimate, and that truly reflected them as a couple. "We wanted our wedding to be about us and the commitment we were making to one another", began Lacey. "We didn't want all of the added fluff that comes with the most traditional weddings. Instead we focused on having a very small, intimate (but still awesome!) celebration with our closest friends and family."Read more...

Lauren and JP's Glasgow wedding was based on their mutual love of Scotland and literature. "Our inspiration was really just stuff we like", Lauren wrote. "Medieval mixed with Scottish mixed with books mixed with 50s mixed with tattoos mixed with pumpkins! It was lucky that our mish-mash just worked in the space together! There’s nothing like that moment when you see your vision for the day come together so well."Read more...

John and Lucy were married at Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire in September. They chose it because it had the pretty outside space that they wanted, and they were able to say their vows outside (which isn't always possible in the UK!) in their covered pavilion. "We are both artists, I paint and John is a photographer, and we are both deeply inspired by nature", said Lucy. "I am also borderline obsessed with the vision of an enchanted forest so we wanted our wedding to feel like a blurry childhood memory of a place that was so beautiful and fantastical that you're not sure whether it was real or not. We fell in love with Larmer Tree Gardens the minute we clapped eyes on it. There were peacocks and parrots roaming around so we used a loose theme based on the colours of the peacocks plumage by having the boys in teal and the girls in royal blue."Read more...

You might think that there's nothing more traditional in English weddings than a country garden setting, but Abby and Hoi's big day was anything but quaint! They took the traditional elements and turned them on their head. From the bride's short polka dot dress and purple hair, to the Hello Kitty cake and the vintage ice cream cart for dessert, this was a wedding that was quintessentially 'them'.Read more...
