Summer & Christopher's wedding took place in July in a cemetery/mausoleum where the bride's mother works at their beautiful 1920's era chapel - certainly made for some awesome shots huh!? Summer told me: "It didn't bother us that the chapel had a mausoleum inside of it. It's not that we were being purposely macabre, but we both have an understanding of the cycle of life, and felt that it would be beautiful, appropriate, and romantic, to have our wedding in a place which encompassed beauty and history. It was also a nice tribute to my mom, who brought me up with the understanding that death is just another part of life"Read more...

I knew Amy & Jesse's wedding would be off-the-hook with it's intense awesomeness as soon as I saw and blogged their engagements a while back. Surely a couple this offbeat and rockin' couldn't have anything but a super crazy, kooky, inspirational and incredible wedding day could they? However, even I was blown off my chair when I laid eyes on these little beauties. Their DIY, carnival wedding was not only ridiculously creative and awe-inspiring but the couple themselves literally looked like a candy covered explosion of kick ass attitude and fun all over! (By the way I fully realise that my explanation of my thoughts on this wedding probably make little or no grammatical and linguistical sense - however my intense excitement over getting to blog these appears to have rendered by logical brain dysfunctional!) Got it? Right...on with the show... A HUGE Rock n Roll thank you to Marina of Red Heart Photography for sending these over. I couldn't wait to blog these (as always) and so the photos below are actually only part 1 & 2 of her posts. Go check out her blog over the next few weeks for even more eye candy!Read more...

The Sloan's are those kind of photographers who's work gets snapped up and featured the second they blog it. So you can imagine my elation to receive an email from the pair who asked if I would like first dibs on Heather & Austin's engagement session. A pink haired chick and that Californian light? Seriously guys, there was no question! Thanks to the super talented Angie & Matt for sending these my way. Credit: Sloan PhotographersRead more...

Although Tiffany & Alan are technically already married, they never ha d a 'proper' wedding and so decided they needed to do it all again - only this time better! The couple, who already have a 4 month old baby (you would never guess after looking at the teeny tiny Tiffany - erm wow hot mama!) will be re-tying the knot next month and I can not wait to see the results!Read more...

It may be a virtue, but patience certainly isn't something I have. Especially when it comes to sharing images like these ones. I was going to wait a little while to blog these, but it turns out I literally have no self control and I couldn't hold off any longer. I'm pretty sure you'll understand why... Eeek so gorgeous! I have a cocktail induced sore head today so posting may be lighter and/or make no sense today. I am struggling to string a sentence together... This shoot by Kelly Moore kind of made my head hurt even more due to all the brightness but I love it too much not to post. Of course there is no relation to weddings at all within this shoot, but it's so pretty it's worth a mini deviation. Credit: Kelly Moore PhotographyRead more...

I have very much been looking forward to sharing these rockabilly style, pin up-esque, damn super sexy boudoir shoots from Marin Kristine Photography. Anyone who rocks a pink or blue wig gets a thumbs up from me. These may make a great gift for your future Husband, but nobody can deny you'll have just as much fun playing dress up!Read more...

The bonus of having two photographers is that you get two different perspectives and styles, even when you're dressed as dramatically as I was! Part two comin' at ya... Woo! I have been dying to share the results from my photo shoot with Chanelle & Craig Segerius-Bruce so much so that I don't even have the full set yet so I'm going to do it in two parts. I met Chanelle for Sushi a while a go and we got a-chatting about doing a shoot together. We knew we wanted to come up with an idea that wasn't 'overdone' (even non brides-to-be worry about doing the same as everybody else...maybe I should read this article I wrote!?) Anyway, we came up with an idea revolving around an old castle and black...lots of black. This little inkling of an idea then evolved into shoot you see below. Despite buying a black dress from Ebay for the shoot, when it came to the crunch it just didn't look right so we went back on the old faithful, my Maggie Sottero wedding dress. I made the black veil myself out of some black tulle, a hair slide and lots of glue(!) and also broughtalong some various other colours of tulle which ended up coming in very handy (yes that is me splayed across a big rock and no it wasn't comfortable..or glamorous!) We trekked our arses all the way down to the Abbey Ruins in Reading town centre but when we got there it was all gated off with warning signs for potential falling rocks. Oh noooo! So what's a Rock n Roll Bride and photographer(s) to do? Hell break in and do the shoot anyway of course! Chanelle & Craig were fantaaaastic and played around with a new technique called 'painting with light'. I had to stand very still in one position for a number of shots while one of them moved around me flashing a flash for in different areas to highlight various area. I think you can see the results are pretty darn spectatorand give the images a real high fashion, edgy look. Chanelle is also an amazing re-toucher and has worked for no less than Mario Testino (oh yes!) so I knew me and my far from perfect skin were in good hands. Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as we did shooting themand stand by for part two! (For the full part one set, head over to my flickr)Read more...
