First of all, well done to everyone for all your patience. I have been very cruel and teased you for weeks about this new project (especially on Twitter hehe!) but I'm pretty sure you're going to forgive me when you see what I've been up to...You must also forgive me for the super wordy nature of this post, but there has been so much work behind the scenes to make this shoot happen that I can’t possibly do it justice without an epic explanation. A little while ago, the amazing Emma Case and I were talking about how crazy our lives are; about how everything seems to have exploded over the last few months and about how many awesome people we’ve met. “Let's do a shoot together” one of us said “hell yeah!” said the other. After we’d decided to actually go through with it and (as Emma later confessed to me) after a major bit of 'OMG what the hell am I doing'/freakin' out about it, a date was set. We didn't really know what the plan was. “Let's just go and have a play” we said.

This ghoulish, retro horror themed wedding may not be everybodys cup of tea but I can't help but be a little over-excited about it. So. Much. Originality! Photographer Al, who has just been shortlisted for 'Tattoo Photographer of the Year' was keen to tell me all about Ash and Michelle Ghoulmore's (oh yes!) friday the 13th wedding. The couple run retro rebels store and the horror-themed clothing company Kreepsville 666 so their wedding was always going to be a spooky special. 'Ghoulmore' actually is Ash's surname and they pretty much live Halloween everyday, so it was fitting to pick a horror / b-movie inspired Wedding theme. "This meant I had to light the formals in a slightly different way to ensure I got that punchy highly saturated contrasty feel that fits with the mood" photographer Al told me. "This was the first time I've seen a smoke machine used during the ceremony! The archway was decorated with skulls and light like a stage. As you can see form the photos the cake was a skull and all the attendees got to take home a set of cast-silver effect fangs to say 'fangs for coming' [groan]. Zombina and the Skeletones provided the live music for the reception, again fitting the horror-rockabilly theme."

I found a linky to the wedding of UBER UBER UBER cool recent bride and artist Zoetica Ebb & her writer husband Ales Kot on Gala Darling last week and literally couldn't wait to share it with you - especially after I visited Zoetica's inspiring website and laid eyes on her sparkly, blue, faux-halk! Serious hair envy batman! The pair actually got officially married in a microscopic civil ceremony June as Ales is a Czech citizen (you can see Zoetica's post on the event here including their adorable 'leaving the ceremony' video) so the couple decided that a second 'just for show' ceremony didn't make sense so their wedding was actually just a big old Rock n Roll celebration!

Nope this isn't one of my photo shoots - but model Jennifer and I sure to have one (very pink) thing in common! The shoot took place in Richmond, VA at Belle Isle which is a park that has a large suspension bridge that takes you to another small island that has several abandoned buildings including an old power plant on it - perfect shooting ground! "The power plant is really cool, lots of graffiti and crumbling architecture" photographer Jan told me. "Her dress was bought at a thrift store for $3, we added the black sash to give it more character. She was an awesome model, with great pink hair and lots of style I hope to photograph her wedding eventually. I love your blog by the way. It's completely along the lines of what I'm interested in and I love to see other photographers and brides that are unique and have style not typical boring brides."

Jade of Jade Rose Designs was eager to share with me some of her new, gorgeous, perfect-for-Rock-n-Roll-Brides designs and I was over the moon to receive them, especially when I say her gorgeous model's (friend Erin) hair! Based in Portland, Jade teamed with Bryan Rupp Photography to create a photo shoot to inspire Rock n Roll Brides everywhere.

Happy Easter everybody! As regular readers will know, the Rock n Roll Bride doesn't stop blogging for anything so I thought I'd share one of my favourite topics today - pink haired gals! I hope you haven't eaten too much of the sweet stuff because today I'm going to provide you with one serious sugar rush... As a lover of all things pink (headed) I'm excited to share that all three of today's posts feature gorgeous pink tresses! Kicking things off is the engagement session of Fred & Martine. She told us that she once went to a party wearing a wig this exact colour and she got so many compliments she decided to make it permanent! It's been pink ever since... Her green plaid dress is an authentic Pendleton which she found for a steal at a vintage thrift store.

She bought her dress from David's Bridal but customised it herself to make it more 'her'.

On a morning on procrastination (or could it have been an evening? I loose track) I decided to give this formspring thing a go. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically a new social networking site (for lack of a better description) where you sign up and randoms (or in my case my lovely readers and fans) can ask me anything! I'm usually aghast at such self indulgence but I've actually really loved answering your burning questions - whether they be about Rock n Roll bride, my personal life (oh yes), the potential of babies (arrgh!), blogging or about having pink hair! As is customary at this time of year, I wanted to take some time to look back over the last 12 months and share with you some of my most favourite weddings, photo shoots and features. I think you'll be hard pushed to not find something that makes you go 'ooooh' amongstthis lot. Enjoy a-reminiscing! I'll be back tomorrow with part 2 (there's too much to narrow it down to just one post!) I'm also taking this slow blog-time (I like to refer to it as 'Crimbo Limbo' (!) to ponder my ideas and plans for Rock n Roll Bride in 2010. I trust you had a good Christmas? I trust you had a good Christmas and Santa was nice to you? Down my chimney fell a swanky new 18.5" wide screen monitor (droooool) a Fuji Instax, a PINK Vivienne Westwood bracelet and an 'eco cup'. These are my favouritest presents. Santa obviously knows me very well - that I am a total blogging and photography geek, that Vivienne Westwood makes me happy and that I drink way too much coffee! I am muchly looking forward to playing with all my new toys and will certainly be scanning in some of my Instax shots soon. Was Santa just as good to you?Anyway, it's nice to have you back, it's been lonely without you dear reader. Although I am going to keep blogging between now and new year, the posts maybe a bit sparcer than usual. I'll still be here, plugging along though, so please don't hesitate to still get in touch if you need too.. Well the winter submissions have poured in over the festive period so I'm going to get right back into it with this snowy graveyard shoot from Jeffery Chan Tin. Bridal shoots in graveyards always seem to provoke some kind of controversy (who knows!?) but how can anybody argue that these images aren't ridiculously stunning? I really do love the snow... Snowed In

So I'm sharing some of Kelty's work twice in two days but you'll forgive my repetition after you see these I'm sure. You have to understand, I couldn't hold off posting these until next week or something because England is currently covered in a blanket of snow so sharing these images right now is more than a little bit apt. You know Hannah & Alex. Their wedding rocked your socks off when I posted it in all it's glory back in September. So their anniversary shoot (as in anniversary of when they met up again after not seeing each other for 10 years aww!) covered in snow is just way to perfect not to post. There were strolls in the park, chased first kisses, prosciutto snacks, dog walks, a drive to the desert, and their first of many snowy Christmases in Portland together. The beginning of something wonderful, really. So they've donned their wedding gear and hit the slopes to celebrate their past, present, and future. Happy Anniversary, my loves!
