Anna and Liam were married in Louisville, KY on December 20th. The day had a winter and Christmas theme with lots of homemade touches. "We knew that we didn't want something formal or scripted for our wedding", said the bride. "Instead we wanted a big party! Neither of us are one for formal events, and we knew we wouldn't feel genuine having the cookie cutter wedding. We wanted something laid back and enjoyable that didn't break the bank and I think we succeeded."Read more...

I feature many, many weddings on this blog of mine, but every so often a wedding lands in my inbox that literally stops me in my tracks. That's exactly what Jamie and Sarah's amazing day did to me! They were married in December and so wanted a wintery Christmas theme, but without the cheese. It had to also feel like 'them', and oh boy did it!Read more...

Kristin and Eric were married on 28th December and so they wanted their wedding to have a festive, gilded vibe. They day was held at 1927 Events, a historic space in Seattle. "The time of year really guided our choices", wrote the bride. "We always wanted a wedding close to the holidays, so we really went for a romantic cocktail and dinner party vibe rather than a wedding. We wanted it to feel really informal instead of the traditional agenda burdened wedding."Read more...
Shell De Mar

Katie and Dan had a teeny tiny wedding (just them and their parents!) at The Summerhouse on the Millbrook Estate in Devon in December. Because they kept their guest list so small, they were able to do exactly what they wanted and to pull it all off for under £8000! Their smaller than average budget certainly didn't mean they had to compromise on the things that really wanted. Katie had a custom wedding dress made by Jo at The Couture Company and they booked the amazing Shell de Mar to shoot the day.Read more...

Whatever you're up to tomorrow I hope you have a fantastic day full of love and laughter. I'm particularly looking forward to the homemade cracker game that Gareth had put together (!) Who knew I married someone so creative?!Read more...

Dear reader I have a terrible confession and I hope you'll still love me after I admit this but... I think I'm a Christmas Scrooge. I'm not a huge fan of Christmas trees (they make a mess), I don't like turkey (too dry), Christmas pudding (gross) or mulled wine (vom)...Read more...

I don't know about you, but I've been feeling exceedingly festive this year. I love Christmas, but usually the build up isn't my favourite bit - I tend to get a bit bored of it all! But not this year! I'm loving all things Crimbo and I'm so excited for the 25th December already! Now, I hope I don't have any Christmas Grinches reading, but on the off chance that I do, Marian & Michael's retro Christmas wedding is sure to banish those blues and get you SLAP BANG into the holiday spirit...Read more...

There are Christmas gift guides a-plenty around the interwebz at this time of year. But that hasn't stopped me getting in on the action! We're planning on decorating our living room a tealy greeny colour (once we can finally agree on some wallpaper - seriously, this is testing our relationship!) so needless to say I'm having a moment with it all...Read more...

On December 10th, Vicky & Martin were married in a gallery space, which they made their own, in Hull. They didn't have the easiest wedding planning journey, with not one but two venue's cancelling their bookings, but at the end of the day the wedding was perfect. "We were not the luckiest of couples when it came to our wedding planning as we had two different venues cancel our booking!" Vicky told me. "We booked a local hotel's wedding package a year in advance and believed that everything from the food to the centerpieces was taken care of. With six months to go they called and cancelled our booking, leaving us panicked and miserable. After considerable research we booked our local youth hostel for a weekend festival in their beautiful medieval building - they cancelled our booking with less than four months to go!Read more...

This week's super cute DIY project was submitted by Erin of BerinMade. Erin's etsy shop is a place for fancifully hand-drawn posters and flamboyant stationery & paper goods and I'm honoured to share with you this adorable tutorial that she created just for us. These would be awesome for a Christmas wedding or even just for your Christmas dinner table. Over to you Erin...Read more...

Ho Ho Ho, Meeeerrrrrieee Christmas! I've been feeling seriously festive these past few weeks. I think it's something to do with a combination of The Spirit of Christmas Fair that I attended with my Mum last week (it was so FUN!), the fact that I no longer work in a job where we're forced to sell everything as a potential Christmas gift from September and because I've been working with the amazing Sugalily (who also designed the Rock n Roll Bride notebooks and 2012 wallplanners which, by the way, are still available to buy) to design a range of Rock n Roll Bride Christmas cards!Read more...

I like to refer to this week between Christmas and New Year as 'Crimbo Limbo Week.' It's a strange old time where lots of people aren't working and the majority of the population sit in front of bad telly, stuffing their faces with left over turkey and Christmas chocolate. Time slooows down and no one knows what day of the week it is. Oh and everyone gets sick... or is that just me?Read more...
