Screamingly Awesome

Kat

October 20, 2009

Remember Keith & Rachel's screamingly (yes I did just make that word up) awesome engagement session? well oh oh oh here comes the wedding! Yeeeeey...baby I love them - the dress, the tattoos, the succulents, the lanterns, the location (they got married under the same tree that they had their engagement shoot at), the cupcakes and the simple and beautiful yellow flower in her hair. Yes, I think I'm pretty much crazy about these! Thanks to the ever delightful Corin for sending these over and to Keith & Rachel for being just way too cool Credit: Corin Jones Photography

Kind of A Big Deal

Kat

October 16, 2009

So I may have written a massive article about how fab Erica Berger is just a two days ago, but when she showed me these photographs and told me the couple found her through Rock n Roll Bride...well I wasn't going to say no to sharing these little beauties was I!? Leigh & Corbett are kind of a big deal (was that a line from Anchorman?hehe). He is the co-creature of the "Saw" franchise and she is an actress and was in The Young & The Restless - I have famous readers don't ya know?! Apparently they love me and went nuts when they saw Erica's work on my blog. I'm a little bit over-excited about that. Woooooo. Oh. And their wedding absolutely rocked. Thanks Erica, Leigh & Corbett...love you too!

October 15, 2009

Well people, hold on to your hats and prepare yourself for another bumper day of Rock n Roll goodness. Did something magical happen overnight or something? I have received a ridiculous number of amazing photo sessions and weddings this morning - I just hope I can bring them all to you soon! Starting off today is this gorgeous 'sugar and spice' rockabilly couple. She's a ballerina, he's a total petrol head (I think in America you call them 'gear heads'? - whatever, he is nuts about cars!) Cassy & Kelly headed to pier 39 in San Francisco with photographer Marin Kristine to get these amazing carousel/carnival/fun fair shots. The couple will be having a pin up style wedding in just 2 weeks and boy am I excited to see the results! Thanks to the lovely Marin for sending these over. Credit: Marin Kristine Photography

Wet.

October 13, 2009

Clayton Austin seems to be the new beau of blog land. I've seen his vintage inspired shoots on many-a gorgeous wedding blog so when he sent me a slightly more modern feeling shoot to feature I jumped at the chance. When Marisa & Trey's shoot was plagued by torrential rain their first reaction was to call the whole thing off. "To hell with it" Clayton said "Let's get wet!" Thanks to Clayton for not only sharing but for getting so wet to bring us these images - you know we love you for it! Credit: Clayton Austin Photography

October 12, 2009

Iconic Californian photographer and blog land favourite, Stephanie Williams, was kind enough to let me be the first to share this beautiful new engagement session she just shot with husband, and business partner, Issac. Naoko & Taejo's shoot is fit to bursting with colour and fun, who could ever been uncheered by jelly babies and balloons!? Thanks so much to Stephanie & Issac for sharing with me! Mwah... I'm taking a break from less pretty stuff to share this gorgeous session by Cathy Empey. Cathy attended a photography workshop held by Jessica Claire and took these a-a-amazing images whist she was there. The details are of course fabulous (check out that super duper cute newspaper decorated cake & cake topper!) but her perspective is what really drew me in to these...stunning. The vitals: Event & Photo Stylist: Grey Likes Weddings Floral Design: Flora Organica Hair & Makeup: Vivian Tran of All Made Up Wedding Stationary, Favors, and Paper Suite: MaeMae Paperie Printing of paper products: Czar Press Fabric Rosettes, shoe clips, and “just married” banner over cake: B. *The* Carnival Wedding

Kat

September 28, 2009

I'm sure most of blog land will have seen and heard of The Langs before without even knowing it. Their engagements, wedding, portraits and anniversary shoot (all photographed by the uber talent that is Sloan Photographers) have certainly made the rounds and with huge justification. Yes. Wow. So you can imaging my excitement and surprise to get an email from Stacie, one half of the duo to let me know that her and Geoff have ventured into wedding photography themselves and would I like to be the first blog to share some of their work...erm Hell to the YES I would. I predict big things for these guys. Mark my words, blog land will be all over these two within a matter of weeks. Anyway, lets get onto the actual wedding they sent me and boy is it a beauty. Kerri & Kyle had a carnival themed wedding and I'm not talking a few little touches - I mean full out actual carnival awesomeness! The couple did everything themselves and on a very small budget but they had the full works - An actual balloon lady, bubbles, cotton candy, photo booth, popcorn, soda bar, candy bar and of course lots of dancing! AAAAmazing. Stacie & Geoff I am honoured that you have sent your first submission to little old me. Eeek...love love love. Thank you so much for being so freakin' awesome. Credit: Lang Photographers

Pin Up’s, Croquet & Converse

Kat

September 24, 2009

Oh how I adore Sloan Photographers. I really really do. I say that a lot and about a lot of people but come on...these are way too amazing for words! As soon as I saw Tiphany & Jamie's wedding I was right on to getting these bad boys featured on Rock n Roll Bride. Lucky for me (and you!) the guys were ever so happy to oblige and here we have it. What I love the most is that the bride in in yellow Converse! No uncomfortable shoes for her. If this isn't rock n roll then quite frankly I don't know what is. ps Word on the street is that Matt & Angie have just shot an engagement shoot with a fuschia haired bride. Eeek I can't wait to see those! Thanks guys for sharing these. You are the best! Credit: Sloan Photographers

Rustic Glamour

Kat

September 22, 2009

The Marvimon in LA has become rather an iconic venue to me over this past year. I have never failed to adore every wedding I'm sent that has taken place within it's walls. Sabrina & Kevin's is no different. The day started as a somewhat traditional western affair - she: a bundle of radiance in her pastel palette and Claire Pettibone gown and he: the perfect accompaniment to his bride. The bridesmaids looked stunning and the flowers (supplied La Partie Events) were out of this world gorgeous. The whole day exudes rustic glamour. Come nightfall, Sabrina changed into a Kimono for the festivities and family party. Thanks, as ever, to the always lovely Erin & Court for allowing me to share this gorgeous wedding! This wedding has also been featured on The Bride's Cafe but I couldn't resist a little sneak too! Credit: ErinHeartsCourt

Awesomes

Kat

September 21, 2009

Lisa & Geoff are awesome. So awesome in fact that my friends over at 100 Layer Cake also realised their awesomeness and have blogged their entire wedding over on their site today. Right here though I'm all about their amazing day after shoot at The California State Fair. I'm pretty sure the fairground photo shoot sinario is one I'm not going to tire of easily - so much colour and fun! Thanks to the lovely Sarah for sending these in and thanks to Jillian over at 100 Layer Cake for working with me on this feature - be sure to go check out their post asap! Fresh New Talent

Kat

September 10, 2009

I am on a blogging roll this morning hey? Can't stop now though, I've got Keith & Rachel's amazing engagements to show you. The couple (who I swear to God should be models) will actually be getting married at the exact location of this shoot. Keith is a tattoo artist and did the awesome sleeve on Rachel's arm. I was shocked to hear that Corin's photography had never been blogged before - it is stunning! I am super excited to be the first wedding blog to share her work with the world. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her.
