They only pushed back until November and with the help of the bride's mother and grandmother; who made masks for everyone, blankets and shawls for the bridesmaids, they were able to reschedule in record time.Read more...

Although they didn't want a themed wedding, Kate and Max were inspired by autumn, Halloween and their favourite movie, True Romance, for their October 2019 wedding. The timeline of their day was in reverse, and although this wasn't what they initially wanted, it was a happy accident and in the end they were really pleased that they did it this way. Plus, it meant Kate was able to justify two wedding dresses!Read more...

When it came to choosing a venue for their October wedding, there was only one place in contention - Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. “The venue really set the tone for our wedding,” Becky explained. “It’s a stunning old church in the West End of Glasgow, which is now a restaurant and theatre. I was the last baby to be christened there when it was a church so to us if felt like a no brainer that that is where we should get married.” It’s beautiful gothic setting with medieval vibes suited the couple - as lovers of autumn, they wanted an October wedding to make the most of the beautiful crisp nights that Glasgow has to offer and their children are Halloween obsessed, so they let all the kids change into fancy dress for the reception.Read more...

Elizabeth and Nicholas embraced their wedding being just days after Halloween, on November 3rd, by leaning into a spooky theme. They had a super intimate ceremony with just 10 guests on the stairs of the Dane Estate just outside of Boston, followed by a reception with under 100 guests, Elizabeth wore her mother's wedding gown which her mum altered into a tea length dress that was more her style. Her veil was even made from left over lace from the original dress.Read more...

As they both work in theatre, it’s no surprise that Sarah-Jane and Stevie’s wedding was going to be all kinds of dramatic! Married in October 2019 at the grand Battle Abbey in Hastings, Sussex, Sarah-Jane wore not one but two gowns (in fact, she’d actually planned to don a third but ran out of time!) and entertained guests with magicians and Hollywood acceptance-worthy speeches; the best-man and groom being trained actors helped here!Read more...

As major Halloween fans, there was only one theme in contention for Mark and Brook’s wedding day - held in October, of course! “It’s our favourite holiday, we’re fans of anything to do with Halloween,” explained Brook. “We’re also from Pittsburgh, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers American football team, their colours are black and gold, so our theme was formed!”Read more...

With the surname of ‘Gather’, Luke and Louise couldn’t not be inspired by this for their September wedding, and so ‘The Gathering’ was born - a bringing together of all the people who mean the most to them. The venue was a no-brainer. Luke grew up around the corner from Elvaston Castle in Derby, and went for regular walks around the grounds. The couple live together nearby and walk their dogs there regularly, so it holds a special place for them.Read more...

Maxine and Josh wanted to include some traditional wedding elements in their day, in particular when it came to the ceremony, but they also wanted to ensure that it felt like them and reflected their own style. Jess works for a fashion company and was inspired by one of the store’s props for her October wedding to Dustin. It was a beautiful dried flower arrangement, which as luck would have it, ended up in a sample sale after the season was over, so she snapped it up! They used it to build the altar decor for their ceremony. and from there, the muted pastel tones paired with copper metal inspired an ‘optimistic autumnal’ theme for the rest of the day.Read more...

Julz and Andy almost cancelled their wedding... until they discovered Rock n Roll Bride (!!) Planned in just six months, the couple wanted a day that played homage to the art deco styling of their venue and the season in which they said their 'I dos'. The bride told us, "The magazine pretty much saved me while I was wedding planning. I almost cancelled the wedding so I could grow my hair and lose weight. I couldn't find any brides at all that looked like me... until your mag came into my life so thank you!"Read more...

It's that perfect time of year where the temperatures have dropped slightly but it's not yet baltic outside, the colours of the trees are at their most beautiful and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are a thing again (OK spoiler alert I actually think they're gross but many people don't agree with me!) But MOST OF ALL, I love the weddings that happen in Autumn. Especially when they're low key and full of all the feels.Read more...
