Ahh Alice in Wonderland weddings, what's not to love? A childhood favourite of so many of us, it's unsurprising that we see so many weddings themed around it. Meeli and Wout's Wonderland wedding might just be one of the best I've seen though. Everyone looks spectacular in their costumes, and they've put so much effort into the décor.Read more...

When Rob and Laura told me they had a fancy dress Alice in Wonderland/ Mad Hatter's tea Party wedding I thought "Wow that sounds cool, but I bet I've seen it all before..." Oh how wrong I was! Never in my life have I seen a wedding where everyone - the couple, the wedding party and the guests - threw themselves into it so much. These costumes are just off the hook awesome!Read more...

Alice in Wonderland themed weddings have been pretty popular since the Tim Burton version of the story was released in 2010, but that doesn't mean I don't still love to see them! I mean who wouldn't want to look at photographs that transport you into a much more psychedelic world? When Adam & Louise got engaged, and despite the fact that they thought the theme had 'been done' quite a bit, they knew it was perfect for their wedding. Louise had been a huge fan of the story for her whole life, and had always dreamt of an Alice themed wedding... so why go changing?Read more...

Our Labor of Love, Sharkpig, The Flashdance, Smilebooth.... oh boy did Kristi & Ben have the dream team behind their San Francisco wedding! With an Alice in Wonderland theme and a ceremony at the Golden Gate Park, they really did go all out to make their wedding day extra special. The reception was held at RF-80, a studio space in the city. "Our inspiration was the eclectic city we live in combined with a love for all things imaginative", began the bride. "We wanted a wedding that wasn’t cookie cutter and that reflected both of our personalities. There were a lot of DIY elements involved. I scoured wedding blogs for my ideas. I also got inspiration from magazines and store windows. I would recommend figuring out what is doable within your timeframe or it can all get overwhelming. Enlist your friends, buy or make some cake, pop open some champagne and get crafting. It saves you money and gives such a personal touch to your wedding. I'd also advise other no not listen to the masses, they will scowl at your ideas, mostly because they’ve either never seen anything like it before or can’t get the proper visual. It’s your day, do what you want."Read more...

The Australian wedding of Stew & Ali was held at Leaning Church Vineyard in Tasmania. "We knew even before we were engaged that we wanted to be married in a vineyard," Ali told me. "We love to visit the amazing vineyards in our area of Tasmania, which is famous for its Pinot Noir. We’re known for our somewhat overzealous love of said Pinot Noir….So a vineyard screamed Stew and Ali. We chose Leaning Church because of its rustic charm, hills full of vines, a quaint little lake, long yellow grass and absolutely fabulous wedding coordinator!"Read more...

After originally planning a massive wedding for nearly 300 guests, the stress all got too much for Tiffany & Ryan and they were forced to cancel the wedding. When it came to planning it for the second time, they decided to scale it all down and focus on what really mattered - them. "Three years ago I was planning a wedding inspired by what every magazine and television show told me it should be," Tiffany told me. "Like most couples, our guest list had exploded, tilting at nearly 300 people. The stress of pleasing everyone was becoming too much, we were way over budget and the fun was non-existent. My fiancé and I loved each other very much, but we both hated what getting married was doing to us. A few months prior to the wedding we suffered two personal tragedies back to back so we threw our hands up and called it quits. Less than three months prior to the big day we sent out cancellation notices to our guests. We lost nearly $25,000 in the process, and most of our sanity."Read more...

Aebbe & Sam wanted to go all out with their wedding theme and had it resemble a kind of Alice in Wonderland/Willy Wonka hybrid. "Sam pretty much let me run with the theme," Aebbe told me. "I love Alice in Wonderland and as my first wedding was very traditional and straight laced (not me at all) he really wanted it to be magical not just for me but him as well. We had a true fantasy day."Read more...

The love for Alice in Wonderland themed weddings has been around for a while so I don't often share that many of them...however an Alice theme done really well is something I just can't resist. Marisa & Noah's wedding falls into this category like a glove. The couple were married at Mendocino Coast Overlook, with a reception at Spring Ranch, Mendocino CA. The bride, dressed as Alice, wore a Betsey Johnson dress and shoes by Manolo Blahnik and the grrom rocked out in a Mat Hatter get up including a hat by Scala Hats.Read more...

"My inspiration for this shoot came from the bride her name is Alison and she has a pet bunny as well as a cupcake tattoo on her wrist," photographer Tab McCausland told me. "So when I started to plan doing my first trash the dress photography class I didn't want it to be just a boring setting. Sooooo we went all out cake, hats, tea pots, a little tuxedo for the bunny, little caterpillar, table set up the works! I think the theme was perfect for the bride and since she had pink and purple hair already it just all came together nicely."Read more...

Alix & Zack...ahh what's not to love? I'm secretly still a bit of a closet goth at heart so anything gothic inspired really gets me excited...and cupcakes, cupcakes always make things 100 time better don't they? Alix wrote to me to tell me all about their engagement shoot with Rock n Roll Bride favourite Lisa Devlin. "So what do you say when the fabulous Lisa Devlin asks whether you'd like to shoot your forthcoming engagement shoot at, none other than, the Hasselblad Studio in Hoxton? How about "Hell Yeah!!!"Read more...

Jaclyn & Joseph's Californian wedding was certainly one with rock star credentials. With colours like bright pink, lime green, gold & cream all mashed together, the result was sure to be a spectacular one. "My inspiration was to create a fairy tale wedding with and Alice in Wonderland twist", explained Jaclyn. I" wanted both elements of shabby chic and edgy to blend together. It came together beautifully. Our wedding was breathtaking. All of the details like the cake, flowers, craft tables and accessories made this wedding become extra stylish. The food was a priority for me too and I think it had a rock star element as well. We served a late night snack bar for our guests as well as a candy bar for take home favors. Each of these elements made our wedding unique and memorable. We had funky furniture for our reception that we rented from Blue Print Studios. This furniture was bold and bright and created a rock star feel for the reception. A one of the best ideas that our guests loved was our photo booth. It was the highlight of the late evening. Our photo booth company had so many awesome accessories for people who wanted to get funky. From boas to beer glasses it was awesome. I wish we could do it all over again!"Read more...
