When Mariela and Mat, who met in 2018 at a tattoo convention, decided to tie the knot, they knew that while they didn't have a particular theme or vison in mind, they wanted something that incorporated their love for the desert, retro decor and tattoos. They found the perfect spot in downtown Las Vegas at the Sure Thing Chapel, featuring an officiant with a twist: Hellvis, the chapel’s resident 'spooky and campy Elvis' evil twin'. Kristel and Joe chose Black Oak Ranch as their venue, which is widely considered to be America's longest running hippie commune. It is also known for it's involvement in music and politics over the years, including serving breakfast in bed for 400,000 people at Woodstock!

Kitsch, Colourful, Mid-Century Wedding Party

Robyn and Ash were legally married in Vegas at the Chapel of the Flowers but they wanted to host a big party when they got back to Yorkshire for all their family and friends. The party had a really low key, retro and kitsch vibe, hosted at their local community centre. The flowers came from a local flower market, the cakes were from various supermarkets and the stationery was made by the bride. Instead of a fancy meal they served wood-fired pizza and the night ended with - who else? - an Elvis impersonator!

Vintage & Thrifty 1960s Wedding in New Zealand

Esther and Todd's wedding was a 1960s inspired celebration held in New Zealand. Being in nature was also important to both of them so they held their wedding at Port Waikato School Camp, an outdoor education camp established in 1928. The site had everything they needed including a big grassy square flanked by long dormitories (ample accommodation!) a dining hall, selection of cabins, and a stunning outdoor chapel where they held their ceremony.
