One of my favourite things about this time of year is that day when I finally decide to switch off (literally switch off my computer for a week!) and allow myself to take a few days away to watch festive movies, eat too much cheese and basically chill the hell out. This is our first Christmas in our new house so it's definitely going to be a double celebration.Read more...

Round here, we all know that you don't have to wear white to your wedding - Rock n Roll Bride couples adorn themselves in all colours of the rainbow! Here's a couple that did just that by wearing outfits in warm tones of blue, but the twist was that they asked their guests to be the ones wearing white! It's a stylish move (well, they are fashion designers), and everyone looked so bright and glamorous.Read more...

Phoebe and Brett's wedding had ethical intentions at its core. From using a CSA (community supported agriculture) florist, to sourcing local female vendors, to donating leftover food to homeless charities, its a wedding that's all heart. December 18, 2017
At first glance, this is a gorgeous wedding full of all the details that Rock n Roll Bride readers go nuts for. But this is actually a styled shoot! And it has a beautiful story behind it... Vanessa ('Vanny') and Martin are very close friends of photographers Anna and Johannes. When they were all children, Anna's little sister brought her friend Vanny home from school. Vanny's father had died of cancer and her mum had a new boyfriend and so was almost never home. Vanny was mostly living off pizza and soft drinks, said Anna. "Since my family is very sociable (and crazy), we kind of adopted Vanny and so she spent a lot of time with us during those years, and we went through a lot together. Johannes and I had a styled shoot planned, and we asked Vanny and her boyfriend Martin to be the models. What they didn't tell us was that not only they were freshly engaged, but they were also expecting a baby! Our shoot then turned out to be half styled and half real wedding, with me doing a speech in church, everybody crying, and our friends playing the parts of the bridal party!"Read more...

Louise and Mark’s wedding was cool and relaxed with a London vibe. They didn’t want it to be too formal, but also didn’t want to lose the feeling that it was a wedding and not just a party. Grace and Stephen's summer wedding was contemporary and colourful. They wanted it to be as modern as possible, without a hint of stuffy formality. Overall they wanted to create a really good party and the bride knew she wanted to wear Vivienne Westwood from the outset. I hadn't planned on talking about our bathrooms for a while. Although they both definitely need replacing at some point (the downstairs on is a delightful shade of avocado) they are were perfectly functional, and actually in much better shape than the one in our own place, despite their age. I love picturing all the new readers, who got engaged over the holidays, giddily unwrapping their first issue and settling down with a hot chocolate by the fire. I love thinking about some of our more seasoned readers, who can now start saying that their wedding is “this year” instead of “next year” … (Eeee! So exciting!) Gone are the days of monochrome matrimonial monotony being the only option. This is your guide on how to colour outside the traditional lines.
