If you've been following me for a while then you'll probably already know that Marrakech is one of my favourite cities. The colour, the people, culture, the shopping... it's just heaven. The medina is crazy busy and, at times, a little overwhelming, but there is so also much more to do here than just shop. There are beautiful, colourful  gardens all over the city, rooftop terraces with spectacular views and hammams to get the scrub down of your life in! You will come home with a suitcase full of spices and colourful homewares, hands covered in henna and hearts full with all the joy of Morocco!

Pippa and Dean's didn't set out to have any theme for their Sheffield wedding last November, but by just choosing things they liked (gothic elements, skulls, Rocky!) they ended up with a glam goth theme with a few surprises. Their first dance was to the Hokey Cokey and their 6 minute firework display almost ended in injury, but it was the most perfect day... and they pulled it off for under £5000!

There are two great life lessons I've learnt since embarking on our renovation project: Everything will take 1716 times longer than you hoped it would, and IKEA is basically brilliant. OK so I knew the latter already, but when you have people coming around for your first attempt at hosting Christmas Eve and you realise that morning that you haven't got enough chairs for everyone... Well let's just say I thank those Swedish home gods everyday that they decided to open a branch in Reading.

They hoped their summer wedding would be relaxed and informal, but they still wanted to put a lot of effort into the decor and theme, so Trish and Steve chose things they liked (rainbows, Disney) and their starting point and then took everything one step at a time.

Matt and Laura, who met at University, went for a dark botanical theme for their London wedding. They were inspired by their reception venue, The Islington Metal Works and used their prop store to source a lot of the decor. They also brought in lots of things from their own home (and the homes of their friends and family!) and handmade what they could. The DIY projects included their wish tree for guests to write on, and even the cabinet where they placed the wedding favours. They were collection of personal trinkets and curios that they'd bought from various flea markets in Berlin and San Francisco that would suit each guest. Guests were invited to look through the cabinet and find the one with their name on to take away - talk about going the extra mile am I right!? All-in-all this was one hell of a cool and creative event.

It’s not everyday that you get a first look involving a unicorn mask, but for Stuart and Angelica that was one of their must-haves – and quite rightly so. Their July wedding, described as “casual unicorns” with a dash of Scottishness, was organised in three months, and mostly long distance across the Atlantic too. Despite that, it also features a secret Alice in Wonderland twist and some pretty incredible gothic architecture too.
